Best Fully Automatic Digital Camera

This is the perfect camera for those who want a high end P&S, but are yet hesitant to go into SLRs.It has a wide varity of features, from fully automatic, to fully manual. I had been owning this for 10 days or so, and had a woderful experience. You need to go thru the manual (which is provded as pdf or available at canon's website), and thats it !!I had been shooting photos with aperture priority, manual focus and shutter priority..and the photos come out excellent. At low light conditions, the automatic mode isnt great..but I did want something which is more than automatic...and when I use manual settings...its perfect in low light as well. Also get the 58mm adapter from lensmate, and you can add polarizers and filters.Overall...I am very very satisfied with the product. Only glitch is that, after I purchased, the price fell some more, so could have waited to get the cheapest ever.... Thanks B&H !!

turn on the cam, use fully automatic mode and be happy, great camera. take the CD, print out the 209 pages PDF Manual, study it, and i mean study it, you will not believe what you can do with this small cam, unbelieveble! the optical zoom is great and even the 300x digital zoom is very very good and sharp. one of my favorite features is the additional antishake button you can press, it freezes your video without shake, like magic!

I purchased this lens to go with my new Canon EOS-7D. When the camera is set to a mode other than fully automatic, the lens focuses very accurately. Photos produced are very sharp with very little if any post-processing required. However, as stated in the camera instruction manual, when in fully automatic mode, focusing will favor the more nearby objects. This only means that the camera is correctly doing its job and not a fault of the lens. When using non-automatic modes, the lens does its job, producing very sharp, and correctly focused photos. As others have stated, Canon should provide the lens hood at no additional charge.

This is a must have. If you own Nikon 1 J5 Mirrorless Digital Camera with 10-30mm the automatic lens cover works the same way. No more fumbling around with the lens cap (Imagine yourself doing nighttime shoots).
