Certainly, theses filters are very useful when shooting handheld outdoors with HDSLR cameras like the Canon 5DmkII which is by the way, a very sensitive camera due to its full frame sensor. Recommended ASA for video are 320 or 640 @ 1/50 when shooting at 24 frames. I bought the complete set of 4 77mm NDs (0.3, 0.6, 0.9 and this 1.2 Circular ND) with a set of step-up rings because we usually use lenses of 77mm diameter or less like the Zeiss ZFs 28-35-50-85mm. Theses filters are mainly used for handheld or low-profile shooting since we usually use a 3-position matte box and 4x5.65 filters for studio or tripod lock-downs. All these filters work flawlessly even with the Canon 17-40mm F4L which already has a Tiffen UV Haze-1 onboard. The Tiffen Belt Pouch for 4 large filters is a must. Highly recommended.

Ive been an avid photographer for going on 50 years.  Starting as a hobbyist, turning pro for a great number of those 50 years and finally retiring to a photography enthusiast in 2010.   When I started my photographic journey a good handheld light meter was an essential piece of equipment for any serious photographer as many of my cameras had no internal metering system.  As time and photo equipment advanced into the digital age even the simplest point and shoot cameras come with very sophisticated light metering systems.  But now as 50 years ago a simple handheld incident light meter is the way to go for insured accuracy. Over the years Ive had many handheld meters.  My latest is the Sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate Light Meter.  Very lightweight, accurate, and easy to use.  I highly recommend the Sekonic L-308X-U Flashmate Light Meter for any photographer wanting to take their art up to the next level.

I will not use an electronic handheld device without an otter box. They are virtually indestructible. Best cover ever.
