Best Hard Drives For Pc

Recently I had a PC die on me. I pulled the 3.5 Hard Drives and 2.5 SSD's and used the Xcellon USB 3.2 Gen 1 Hard Drive Dock to boot them on my iMac and transfer files. It booted the drives almost instantly and required no software drivers which is nice. Being able to hot-swap drives is a great addition as well. It is perfect for what I need it for. (I received this item in exchange for my honest review) 5 |

Building a new pc and decided I wanted a hard drive that can handle a lot of read/writes so I bought this. Ran it through a hard drive test for a number of cycles and came up clean. And the r/w speeds are much faster then my other slower rotational speed drives. If you want a solid drive that will outlast all of your other drives, this is the one to get. And as always B&H shipped all the items fast and were well packed. Highly recommend them. 5 |

As a PC builder and a hard core data archiver. I have purchased several of these WD blue 2.5 SSD drives over the last 5 years. Never had any issues with them. I purchased 2 of these 4TB ones to replace slower mechanical drives in my desktop as well as a 2tb one to add to my laptop. These are not the fastest SSD drives out there of course, but they are a HUGE step up over any 7200rpm mechanical drive. These are plenty fast for most of your regular tasks or even 4k video playback/editing. We use them in multi tracking sessions with a Digital Audio Work station where we record several uncompressed WAV files at a time, and the drive never breaks a sweat. Great mid grade SSDs for anyone looking to upgrade their mechanical drives HDDs. 5 |

I have been repairing PC's since 1985 and I have replaced a lot of hard drives over the years. My choice for reliability is Seagate. While this may not be the fasted or largest available, I am convinced I will get years of service from it. As always, YOUR mileage may vary. 5 |

I bought two of these hard drives, and I used them for backup of my system. They are connected to my PC and backups are scheduled during the day and evening. 5 |

I am a photographer and the hard drive on my PC was getting full so I needed to start storing photos on a new hard drive. I looked around for a DAS system, but had considered going with a NAS system. Since I work flow is solo and I do really work remotely I choose to go with a DAS system. I did a lot of research and decided on the QNAP TR-004 because I can use it as a DAS and connect it directly to my PC. Additionally I can run it as a RAID for redundancy. I then use portable hard drives for backing up my photos. The main reason I went with the TR-004 is the fact that I can add more hard drives and hot swap to larger hard drives as my needs grow going forward. Currently I just run 2 x 4TB hard drives but can add up to two more hard drives or more to larger capacity hard drives. I like this customization as opposed to going with something like the LaCie 2big. This is relatively easy to setup, and is my first time using such a product. I would say the only issue I had was figuring out how to properly format the hard drives once I installed them into the TR-004. However, it only took about 5-10 min. for me to figure it out. 5 |

I am using several of these cables now and will get more because they are the first to reliably connect USB-C ports on my PC's with similar ports on external hard drives and card readers. 5 |

Upgraded from an old PC to a Macbook Pro a few months ago and none of my external hard drives were formatted for Mac. Got this for my MBP to use for Lightroom and some light video editing. Does everything I need it to do at a great speed. Would recommend and would probably buy more of these in the future. 5 |
