i needed up update our wifi for both speed and security. whether with an AC plug or POE, these wireless systems just work great. but then i expect that from netgear.

We built a new home two months ago and made Ring our security systems. It is so easy to use through out phones. We love to be able to check our door bell camera and back yard security camera when we are away. We live in a fairly seclude area now and the cameras and overall security the system offers us is very reasurring.

I installed each of the 4 SanDisk MAX ENDURANCE memory cards into the POE security cameras for my home. They work great for this demanding almost-always-on recording of high-def video.

I am using this PoE for a home security system with Vivotek IP8335H 720P HD Cameras. It was very esatly to install, just hooked up the network from my 4 port router to port 8 of the switch, and attached my 4 cameras to the 4 ports that supply PoE and off I went!! It has a total of 8 ports, however 1 port must be used to supply the network to the unit, then there are 4 with PoE capability and that leaves 3 regular ethernet ports. Nice switch for the price. So far I havent found any fault with this item.

This is much better than the systems I had previously (Google WiFi, Linksys Velop, Netgear Orbi). I have an old 1940’s home filled will plaster walls and the Netgear Orbi AC3000 version 1 was the best at sending 2.4 and 5GHz through the walls. While the other systems lacked the horsepower to get through the plaster walls. The Netgear just worked but I did not have much to tinkering plus the security on it was terrible. If you wanted internet security you would have to pay a monthly subscription fee for Armour. The UDM is great I can create multiple virtual WLAN (home automations, TV, laptop/mobile devices, etc). Each vLAN is separate so they don’t fight for WiFi space. The one UDM covers my 1200sq ft plaster walled home with secure WiFi and if I need more I could add an access point. The fact that the 4 port switch is managed is a plus. Being able to turn on/off those 4 ports makes it even more secure. Just hope that Ubiquiti continues to support this little diamond of a product with FW updates. I can see the UDM being able to do so much more. A lot is the software is in Beta and some in Alpha stage. Hopefully one day (SOON) it will be in full production mode.

I have 2 Lorex security camera systems (NVR and Hub) installed and both work excellently.

Works great for my Reolink PoE security camera. Output meets its specs and so far no issues. Runs very cool, smaller than usual PoE injectors I have and at an incredible price. Even comes with a wall mount and nice design that looks more like an ikea power adapter than a bulky utilitarian looking. Check if output meets your requirements and buy if yes.

I can't say enough good about this little switch. It offers per power management for data and power use. Yes you can order it to power cycle any particular port to reset those hard to reach AP's or cameras. It measures the PoE consumption of each port as well as the total draw from the PoE uplink. It's sealed against weather and mounts in harsh environments like attics and garages. Integrated into the UI software it's also helpful to track down problems with devices connected through it. If you have a router, you can also run VLANs through it to, for example, tap off a dedicated PoE ethernet line for a security camera and turn it into a general purpose trunk line for regular devices like solar inverters or AP's, and then VLAN the camera port back to the dedicated port on the NVR for added security.
