Best Intel Gaming Cpus
Joseph | 2024-09-16 05:16:55 |
This is my second 12700k. What a great CPU. Intel CPUs above this one suffer from a significant loss of diminishing returns. This is the best Intel CPU performance for the money, hands down. And now that the prices have come down so much since I purchased the first one...wow. Then get one on sale and it's truly wonderful. Thanks B&H. 5 |

CPUs/GPUs/motherboards are getting hard to find at a good price right now. B&H came through with this one, which was exactly what I was looking for. For my needs, I'm staying with Intel. The product description was super helpful in specing what I'd be getting for the price, and of course the free two-day shipping is always a great reason to shop here. This and the mobo are for a Windows Server box and the performance increase over the previous rig was better than expected. Super happy with this. 5 |

Runs cool, great frame rates, what's not to love. Intel CPUs run hot glad I moved to AMD. 5 |

After decades of owning Intel cpus, I’ve finally broken away and went AMD. Decided the 5950x would be the most future proof. I’ve been very impressed with its output thus far. I do a lot of video editing and 3D work, and so far so good. Cyberpunk ram without a hitch as well, paired with my 3090. 5 |

Very fast cpu with integrated graphics. It doesn't need a discrete gpu like most intel cpus but more modern and super fast. Had no problems pairing with 3200mhz ram and it could probably do 3600mhz easy with a good board. 5 |

I really like Asus Strix boards especially when selecting Intel K CPUs. I Just select AI OC and so far every system I've built has been super reliable and it is pushed to the limits. My only complaint is that there is no external power switch. For a board of this $ point it should however that is typical of Asus. You really do need to spend more to get more. 5 |

My previous system had an Intel i7-2600K doing the work. To say that the i7-8700K blows it away is stating the obvious. It's faster and more efficient in every way. Video encoding is more than 3X faster in my few tests. 7th & 8th generation Intel CPUs also have the necessary hardware to playback even UHD Blu-ray. In my case it was time for a system upgrade and there were a lot of choices. Last generation's 7700K had come down in price and AMD Ryzen CPUs offer more cores for the price. I chose the 8700K due to the maturity of the platform, it works beautifully, I've had no software or hardware issues. Of course you will need a new motherboard as you would with a Ryzen and maybe memory too. If you decide to go with the 8700K it will give you years of service. There are always new products coming around, if you're in the market I think this is a good choice now. Availability is limited but should increase so be patient and don't buy one marked up in price. 5 |

It's expensive for a 6 Core CPU, but it can hold its own vs more expensive CPUs in gaming. So, while it doesn't have the multithread performance of other CPUs due to the lack of more cores, it still games amazingly. 5 |

I'm running these CPUs on ASUS_ROG_Strix_X570-I_Gaming. To my simple-headed way of thinking, one thing lost by switching to the 5700G is pcie 4 but I have no benchmark to compare my normal usage wrt that feature. Putting that aside, I pulled the trigger and made the purchase at B&H for the lowest price I could find at a reputable dealer, free shipping, and no tax with PAYBOO! What I am finding is that more threads has made a big difference as measured in htop with none of the (near-)saturation I sometimes experienced with browsers on the 3400G, much lower load average, and better response with 16 threads available to share the load. Occasional transcoding and software compiles, no-doubt, are quicker but just basic internet browsing improvements are more impactful for my usage. Then there's the legendary B&H good service. So, why not 5 stars? Thanks! 5 |

All benchmarks show the new Ryzen 5000 series CPUs perform better than its competitor in both productivity and gaming. It is a no brainer. I needed the high core count of the 5900X to power my unRAID media/NAS/gaming server. It runs like a champ while being quiet and in low temp. Shout out to B&H Photo for allowing pre-order on this product. Other retailers require you to play the game of who can check out the fastest, and you can never beat the scalper bots. While I wait for my pre-order to be filled, I tried my luck on buying one from other retailers and failed miserably every single time when there was a stock alert. 5 |
