Best Intermediate Level Mirrorless Camera

I use this product for intermediate-level cinema production. This camera offers great versatility for the price and v-log makes the experience so much better. The flat color profile makes my images much easier to grade and gives me more room to play with in post. I am super happy with it and will be using this profile all the time. The added stops of dynamic range are also wonderful as well! For professionals that want complete control over their image - this is a must.

I am an intermediate level birder, and needed a camera to document my sightings. The extreme zoom on this camera met my needs exactly. The camera sensor is necessarily small due to the physics of the long telephoto zoom, but since I don't do prints or enlargements of my bird photos it's not a disadvantage for me. I use it handheld 95% of the time, and the VR works great even at long focal lengths. It's much easier to schlep along than a DSLR with a long lens. And it makes a decent substitute for a spotting scope in many circumstances.

Starting off with the body itself it’s fairly straightforward and easy to use. I would classify it as an intermediate level camera that wouldn’t be to complex for a beginner. One of my favorite features is the ability to take photos on it using my phone via app with really helps for shots with lower shutter speeds. As far as the accessories go I see the memory card as self explanatory and I haven’t used the editing software enough to form an opinion. The bag however, is functional and keeps the camera well protected as long as you don’t decide to throw it across the room. The battery life is long enough that I went shooting for 2 hours and the battery was only half used. Overall it’s definitely a worthwhile purchase.

I've only used it for about a thousand shots and as a hobbyist with intermediate level equipment I'm satisfied up to this point.

I love this lens, especially for the money. I'm an intermediate level, and now have several L lenses in my pack. Don't be deterred this is not an L series. It's a steal piece of glass at this price point. It's quiet, IS is very effective, AF fairly quick. There is good reason this lens has a constant 5 star rating. You will be very happy with the performance of this lens, guaranteed. I love it.

This is a great starter prime lens if your a beginner or intermediate level photographer. The F 1.8 allows you to take a lot of pictures in low lighting conditions.

I am moving from DSLR to mirrorless, and this is my entry level camera for the switch. It is a great camera, no comparison to my very old DSLR. Great photos, color, focus, and everything is intuitive and easy to use.

This is a awesome entry level mirrorless camera, and if you're a old film guy like myself with a collection of old Nikon glass, I'd pick up the ZTF adapter too.

I debated for a while between what camera to upgrade to - did I want to go the next-newest prosumer? Did I want to go to full-frame? Or did I want to make the jump to mirrorless? After a lot of back and forth, weighing pros and cons, I came across the D500 - a perfect mixture. A more pro-level camera body, still with the crop sensor so I would not lose the lenses I currently own or have to fight with an adapter to get them to work with another body type. Not to mention the very reasonable price! In the short time I have had the camera, I have already had a number of shoots and the results have been absolutely amazing. A rather large step up from my previous Nikon body, with more available manual choices. Definitely a good choice for those looking to get more pro-level options with their body but not wanting to sacrifice the crop sensor. Only minor downside is compared to a mirrorless, the D500 is on the heavy side.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best camera bag on the go. Can carry a mirrorless camera and still pack some space for other items such as a Water Bottle and a laptop or tablet.
