Best Laptop Computer For Older Adults

Best laptop I ever have.

Best part of this is that my good gear is in a place everyone knows not to touch (adults and kids). If accurate readout, it is very consistent at keeping within a percent of humidity. I know it is working because you can feel the dryness when you take something out. Kind of weird that every day you touch things and don't think about moisture until you touch something much dryer than your surroundings. I like the padded shelves. The 80L cabinet holds a bunch. I have my drone, cameras, lenses, batteries (camera and AA, AAA, etc.), film, etc. If you don't set it up like the product pictures, you can cram a bunch in.

I recently moved up from an older laptop with only USB type A connections to one with only type C connections. All of my old devices are of no use on the new computer without adapters like these. They work perfectly. Of course, I don't gain the higher speed connections of Thunderbolt connectivity with my older devices, but they work as fast as they ever did. I can upgrade external devices as my budget allows.

Have been using an older teleprompter with a computer monitor connected by cords to a laptop. Worked good, but it's become too cumbersome and slow to setup with an octopus mess of wires all over the place. Decided to give this a go and so far so good. It is for real like 1/4 the size of the equipment we were using before, so that alone was worth it. While i do like using a real computer to make changes and run the prompter, I think it's just something to get used to to fiddle with an iPad.

Best experience with a Mac laptop since my original computer, a Mac Powerbook back in the late 1990s. Smoother, faster and a step above my current Mac Mini (16gb ram, 3+GHz, etc.). Does everything in Photoshop quickly and quietly, love the M1 chip and the Touch Bar, which I had avoided and didn't think I'd like but do. Very portable. Very cool. Very happy with my purchase. Those who bemoan the lack of connection ports should be assuaged by the many 3rd party plug-in USB C hubs on the market. They provide USB ports of every description as well as an SD card reader and an HDMI port for your monitor. These things look good and don't detract from the appearance of the computer, many of them look like they were designed to blend in with the computer, because they were.
