This is the perfect starter NAS for me. I wanted to consolidate all my data from several computers. With the seamless handoff to IDrive and an external USB drive, my family memories are now safely backed up.

Transferring data from an old to a new computer is a bumber. There are so many programs that need to move, so much data. Before the move I went through the old computer and tried to delete old, unused, or redundant data and programs, a daunting task for sure but an opportunity to rid the drive of the unused and out of date information. That done there remains gigabytes of data that needs be moved. The usual method might be transferring what data is needed to an intermediary drive and then downloading and reinstalling the programs that use the information. This program automates most of that chore. I was able to do this without attaching a common cable to the two computers and was able to do the transfer over the home network to which both new and old computers were connected. The program alerted me to a lack of sufficient space on the new C drive so I moved some picture files to a separate drive. All in all this made a usually painful process into one that was just arduous and although I was uncertain about the results when beginning when done I was pleased with what had been transferred. Even the sign in and authentication codes for some programs moved eliminating the need for re installation. I would recommend this program.

Bought computer and all things with the purchase were as expected. Purchased Applecare which is a must since I have 2 additional computers which will be migrating data to one another. Got the assistance I needed and am happy with the purchase.

This is a nice little external hard drive I use for data backup and transferring large files between computers. No external power is required which makes it very convenient, and it runs completely silent.

Instead of saving info on individual computers, our small organization chose to store all data on a Synology NAS. We use it heavily daily. When our 2015 NAS died, we replaced it with a DS1821+. The transfer process was seamless and we were up and running again in just a short period of time. In the past, when a computer died and we had data on it, it required hours of work to get everything restored. We also backup this NAS to an offsite NAS (Synology 2017). With no tech people on staff, Synology makes the whole process easy for all of us! Thanks Synology... and thanks B&H for your helpful service!
