I upgraded my 27 inch iMac with a Fusion drive so out came the CD. I got the super drive to replace it. Something to keep in mind.. it has to be directly plugged into a USB from the computer. A powered hub doesn't do it. Once you do that, I works wonderfully with cd's, dvd's, and recordable CD's/DVD's. Actually, it works better than the cd that came with my iMac.

Now that Apple no longer makes laptops with the things we really need, like cd slots and USB ports for example, having this cord is a pretty indispensable!

Solid, Strong External CD Drive

Needed a DVD drive as new laptops did not have one. This drive has all the features we needed and looks good too!

I have used this product for years to store my 2000 DVD library and 500 CD libraries. We would not have any space without them. I have used other brands but always prefer the style and access these provide. We are military and move ever 2 3 years.
