Best Lightweight Camera Backpack For Airline Travel

have used this case for a few months of airline travel-when I need another case i will buy a SKB. Lightweight and sturdy.

After looking at 5 upper tier brands, I purchased the 31 L pack and then returned it for the 41 L pack. Since purchasing this backpack several months ago, I have used it for both car and airline travel. The DSLR medium module fits my Z8 with an L Plate, a Z 100-400 lens, a Z 24-120, a 20 1.8 and a Z 1.4 extender. The protection is excellent. In the storage above, I have never used all the room. Within the roll down portion I commonly carry my toiletries, a rain coat, a down sweater, filters and sometimes a change of clothes. The smaller pockets carry keys, sun glasses, a card wallet, a few cleaning supplies, charging gear, ear buds. The long front zip pocket stores my wallet and phone going through security and a book. The computer sleeve will fit my 16 inch Mac-pro or my Air iPad. This is an exceptionally made bag, very sturdy construction. It is also very versatile with the interchangeable divider modules and the extra upper storage capacity. The luggage dolly is an essential for me in airports. With the design and rugged construction, I feel comfortable taking it on hikes. My travel tripod or a large water bottle fits nicely in the side pocket. I can buy the large DSL module to take a second body and more lenses for a photography specific trip. The negatives? The weight. It is a big bag so be prepared if you load it up. Also, remember that as purchased, it is only water resistant. With heavy rain, the backpack rain flap is important.  As for airline travel, the 41 L has always been considered my personal item. I only carry on no matter how long the trip. I guess I could get burned one of these days considering the size, but I doubt it.

Great tripod for travel use. Small enough to fit a camera backpack and very lightweight. Used with a Nikon D800 and it worked well.

I was looking for a very lightweight tripod for travel. I have not used it yet for traveling but it is exactly what I was looking for. Lightweight and folds down very small. Will fit into our backpack. I am anxious to use it on our upcoming trip.
