Best Mic For String Instruments

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

This mic sounds very nice for vocals, plucked string instruments, and woodwind instruments (at least that's what I've tried it on). I highly recommend it!

I play and record many instruments and need an external mic for my iPhone. I chose the Rode Video Mic Me for it's price and I'm finding it definitely improves the audio quality on my iPhone recordings.

This is my first mic so I don't have anything to compare it to other than the internal mic on my GH5. With that said, I am very happy with the sound reproduction so far. I recently recorded a post-sunrise video on a bayou and there were tons of birds and some yard chickens calling/crowing and they sounded great on replay. The Windbuster is NOT a Deadcat and the fit is a little suspect. There is a draw string at the back of the Windbuster but I am not sure where it is suppose to cinch down. The only obvious space would be between the mic isolation support and the back of mic barrel but there isn't sufficient room to hold the draw string in place. There is an elastic band with a snap that does fit and securely holds the WIndbuster in place. Also there was no diagram showing how to secure the drawstring. So all-in-all I'm happy with the VMP+ but just wish the Windbuster's securing mechanism was more "elegant".

After seeing a string of positive reviews for this mic, I did want a good mic for Zoom meetings (but not a good $800 mic). This is a good sounding and very QUIET mic, complete with shock mount and metal pop filter. For me, it displaces the Neat Worker Bee as best cardioid condenser mic for the price.

What an enormous improvement we had when we switched to this mic for our Viola player. It was better than the Band we had before. If you are looking for the best sound for your string instrument, this is it!

This is my first 'serious' mic, after a string of DIY mics, preamps and cables and ongoing noise problems. The C01U's hyper cardoid pattern reduces noise down to a mere whisper, (and could be filtered out digitally) but I won't, so a short phyical move of the PC will will do the job nicely. And it sounds a whole world better than anything I've played with before, I've been wasting my time with DIY mics (with elements that claim the earth), I know where I'll be looking to next time.

Loving this mic for in door focused recordings of voices or instruments. B&H got it to me super fast as well.

This is a great mic for both vocals and instruments. I record in my little studio and it sounds as nice as my old U87i.
