One of the best (some would say the best...) microphone in the business, particularly for vocals and lower sound level instruments (acoustic guitar, flute, etc...). Extremely sensitive, very low noise. Picks up the tiniest detail. The switchable polar pattern, integrated low cut filter and 10 dB attenuation pad means you can use them for anything in any situation, couple of switches and you are done. Just did a simultaneous recording with my Schoeps on a flute and these sounded even better, if that was at all possible. More velvet and refinment in the mid tones. You could immediately tell why they are unsurpassed on voice. If you can afford it and don't mind how large they are, this is the quintessential studio mic you need in your arsenal.

Such a clear, crisp sound.  Excellent for my recording studio for vocals and acoustic instruments.  Love it.

I was looking for a decent mic to use with my iPad for field recording of acoustic instruments and voices. I run a old-time acoustic jam and the iPad allows me to do minor editing on the spot. Had been using conventional xlr mics patched in through the earphone/mic jack, but was getting noise from the jack and background hum which was unacceptable. In shopping around, the MXL Tempo was the best value of mics which work with the iPad camera connection kit USB adapter. The mic works as advertised, right out of the box. No hum, even at high input levels, which means that instruments don't have to be right up on the mic, potentially bumping into it. The on- board earphone jack is handy, but the normal earphone jack on the iPad gives the best proof of recording quality since it is the true output. All around good product. MXL has a winner.

This is an excellent microphone for both vocals and acoustic instruments. The battery power gives you phantom power equivalent in situations that don't have phantom power. A great, versatile mic to have for traveling musicians who want to make sure they have a consistent excellent sound.

Whether you're looking to record yourself playing instruments, singing, or podcasts, the Yeti offers the best bang-for-your-buck when it comes to USB microphones. Using the microphone couldn't be more simple; just plug in the USB cable, open recording software of your choice, and in minutes you'll be recording some surprisingly clear and crisp audio. On the topic of audio quality, one must mention the top-notch audio recording capabilities of the microphone. The Yeti uses a three-capsule design which allow for a wide array of recording patterns. The audio comes out well-balanced, picks up bass well, and produces most frequencies with excellent clarity. With that said, do not expect it to be able to record CD quality audio, but for a USB mic, it sure has just about every other beat. The only con I can really think of is the Yeti's size, which might make it difficult to transport. With that said, the Yeti is very well built and features a rugged metal body and stand.

The AT4050 microphone is a great product. It gives an honest representation of sound whether you are recording vocals, flutes, or stringed instruments. I am a multi-instrumentalist and am very pleased with its capabilities in capturing the sonic qualities straight across the spectrum of musical instruments in numerous settings. The multi-pattern features are a huge bonus, along with the low cut and -10 dB pad switch. All I can say is that at the end of the day you got one heck of a good microphone.

This microphone was purchased for church applications: recording and amplification of instruments and occasional voice applications. It is well-constructed and solid. I like the feel and robustness. I would not use this for pipe organ or grand piano music, but it is absolutely great for acoustic guitar and other instruments without significant low bass. Highly recommended.I like not having to fear an occasional drop or bump, something that is likely to happen in church use.

Incredible live music microphone, or for recording up close instruments. While it is not as sensitive as say Nt5's for ambient and nature sounds, when given a substantial volume the mic really shines. I love it.
