I used the RODE VideoMic GO on a boomstand with a six-foot 3.5 mm extension cord. I was able to dial the sound levels right in.The upgrade in quality from my previous system was well worth the money. Sound quality improved to great. Mike

I originally bought the tripod as a stand for my Rode Videomic Go when recording audio voice tracks for my vlogging entries, and it works very well for that purpose. I also use it when closed as a hand grip on which to mount my Nikon Zfc when shooting video with the 16-50 kit lens. It gives me a degree of stability that isn't possible when shooting handheld.
