The video quality of this HD webcam is excellent and the built-in microphones work better than a microphone array on a laptop or Intel NUC. Of course, a separate quality microphone closer to the speaker will always give clearer audio. Video in Teams, Zoom, and Skype look much better than with my previous Logitech webcam in terms of color accuracy, low-light performance and image sharpness. Because of the quality lens and sensor, digital zoom can be used when needed. The tripod attachment is very welcome. When recording a group, you get much better results when putting the cam on a tripod and adjusting height and angle just as you would do when recording video.

Been using these on SM58 microphones for live performances and when recording audio for video projects. Never had a problem using them. They've been very reliable.

I used two NTG-3 shotgun microphones for the first time for recording the sound tracks for a full orchestra video. My equipment was set up in the first row of the balcony (about 60 feet from the orchestra). The sound quality was exceptional and covered the full audio spectrum well. I wish I knew how to include a short sound clip in this review. It had wonderful attenuation of audiance noise (coughs, etc.).

I've used this mic for many offsite video projects recording into an H4N recorder alongside close miking to great success. All negative ratings I've seen on this microphone seem to be due to poor recording technique or based upon features they want that weren't advertised. A decent external mic pre will lower the noise floor and make this microphone shine as it does; using a dslr onboard mic pre all but guarantees a subpar recording and its on the writers for garbage recordings. As with all shotgun style microphones, using them in a reverberant small enclosed space will make for a boxy recording, so it falls again on user error. Rate the item as it is and not your ability to use it. This item is wonderful for the price and I heartily recommend it above any similarly priced shotgun microphones or cheaper.

Use it for video and audio recording into my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Very easy to set up. I even hook up a small USB unit to power the light that comes with the package while recording. Now I'm able to use the light for long hours while shooting in low light. Audio recording quality is very nice. iPhone can be easily installed and uninstalled with the screw loosening and tightening with no chance to damage the phone. Holding this thing with both handles can help stabilize the recording. Don't forget you can record yourself too.

Purchased the Rde SmartLav+ to use for audio recording while shooting video of stand ups. Shooting video with one iPhone while recording audio using an iPhone X with the SmartLav+ attached (using the Lightning to 3.5mm dongle from Apple.). Audio quality is strong, quiet, and with good separation of ambient sound. Synching video and audio in post using Final Cut Pro. Couldnt be happier with the audio quality, build quality, and overall experience. I purchased additional wind screens and clips based on past experience with other mics, but with this product, the windscreen actually snaps into place, so loss will be far less frequent. The quality of the clips is also such that breakage will be far less likely than Ive experienced with other products. Great product, particularly at the price.

I'm using these headphones with a Rode NTG video mic.I've got the mic attached to my iPhone (USB outout) and the headphones attached to the analog output of the mic. This allows me to listen to the mic output while recording. Works like a charm. The mic has a volume control on the headphone output, but the low impedance headphones are plenty loud anyway. The iPhone is using the Merlin App for recording bird calls. I can now hear those call with clarity.
