First, I have long admired Midi Controllers, Keyboards, Effects, and everything associated with digital music creation. There are several reviews out there by amazing creators with more detailed information, but after watching all of them, then pulling the trigger on this one, it was worth it. The build quality is nice, the feel of the pads is premium, and adjustments are quickly made. Plug and play, for the most part, depending on the DAV or website software you use. If you are looking for a little larger keyboard/Midi controller, this one should be at the top of your list, and it's only $60 more (at the time of writing this) than the AKAI MPK Mini, so what's stopping you?

Since this purchase was my first foray into digital recording, I spent time researching comparable products and the accompanying software packages. I decided on the Steinberg UR242 because of the reviews of their preamps, four separate inputs, and the price. B&H had the product in stock when other vendors did not, and they offered free next day shipping. I received the UR242 from B&H as promised. Installation of drivers and software went flawlessly, and the UR242 works as I expected. The only drawback is the learning curve to use the Cubase DAW software, but I believe that would be the same with almost any DAW.

I have used Maxell CD-Rs for recording music in the past and the last batch had a lot of duds. Using different software and machines didn't help. So I tried these Verbatims and so far, so good. When I get to the last one without any problems, then I'll be able to recommend them without hesitation.

Excellent addition to my equipment. Easily started recording, and with available software was able to isolate music from a continuous recorded file, make EQ changes and be pleased with the results.

I have used Maxell CD-Rs for recording music in the past and the last batch had a lot of duds. Using different software and machines didn't help. So I tried these Verbatims and the Verbatim Digital Vinyl CD-ROM, which are 1/3 the price, and so far, so good with both. Due to the high price, I think I will indeed be using these more as archival disc, and the Digital Vinyl for everyday use. These are shiny on both sides, but you can write on the top side with a CD-ROM marking pen. When I get to the last one without any problems, then I'll be able to recommend them without hesitation.

I've been using protools for about 10 years in my recording studio and I think is the best software for record, edit and mix music. I got this version for working in my laptop and now I can work everywhere. The native plug ins woks very well and you can get others of your preference that run well too. For shure I will continue using protools in the future.
