Best Obs Studio Setting For Recording Video Podcasts

A must have for on site and in studio video recording.

I'm setting up a personal studio for podcasts and wanted to buy the best equipment. I purchased a top of the line microphone and received this high quality boom as a free bonus gift. I was so impressed that I bought my mixing board from B and H also (which came with more free gifts). B and H is definitely the first place that I look for my audio/visual needs!

im a musician and this is a great mic for recording, podcasts, and video content! the mic is great quality with no feedback and warmth, the red outside layer gives it an even better filter to the sound. if you dont want to invest in a mic that needs an interface def get this one. you can also connect to your phone!

I needed a white light that was not too bright for my face to use for Zoom meetings and recording video podcasts. The light is the appropriate color and nicely adjustable. The directions for the produce do not make it obvious that the tripod allows the light to be moved up about a foot off the table but I was able to find an unboxing YouTube video that showed me how to do that.

I'm a reasonably experienced user. I purchased this product to use in recording interviews, podcasts, and voiceovers for video projects. It excels at each one of those tasks. It is incredibly easy to set up and use and the multiple recording spheres/zones is a pretty interesting feature. The only problem I've had so far is that locating and playing the audio files took me a little while to figure out. And when I say a little while, I mean 15 minutes tops. Strongly recommend purchasing this product.

I haven't had a lot of time on it but it's a huge step up from my previous set up, the Zoom H6. The H6 is great for remote podcasts and it's simple to travel but you need so much more if you want to do remote podcasts. I wish the Zoom Podtrak P8 was available 4 years ago when we started our podcast. While I can't compare it to other models or brands, it's easy to use and set up. I didn't read any instructions and was up and running in minutes. It's very intuitive and I love the layout. Since I have a dedicated desk and studio, this stays set up all the time and I use it even for video conference calls. For the most part, we're doing remote podcasts (not video podcasts) using Riverside.fm but I had my first in studio guest yesterday and it was so easy to set up. Plug in the guest mic, adjust levels, hit record and you're good to go. The display makes it is easy to monitor levels which is good when you're the host and working the board at the same time. For now, it's a little more than I need, but it provides opportunity to expand when the time comes. I love the H6 but it has limitations since it wasn't designed specifically for podcasting. I may still keep it for remote type of set ups. Then again, I may just end up selling it down the road if I don't find that I need it as much.
