Best Podcasting Microphone In Noisy Environment

We use the NTG-3 as an on-camera microphone, to focus in on a subject in a crowded and often noisy environment (i.e. inner-city classrooms). The combination of low handling noise and high sensativity enables us to capture soft-voiced conversations amidst considerable ambient noise while mounted on a handheld camera.

Best podcasting/voice-over microphone ever! No background noise, even when people are loudly talking in the next room. The audio is so beautiful, that I hardly need to do any work retouching it. This has streamlined my workflow and saved me hours and hours of time.

If you know, you know. This microphone is the best you can get. I use it for podcasting as well as some video work. Invest in your equipment.

Excellent for running and exercise. Sound can be a struggle in super noisy environment but thats to be expected.

Great mic for podcasting on a budget. It's a bit sensitive, even for a condenser-style mic, but if you keep the gain down and intelligently select the recording pattern, it should not be a problem. I've only used it in quiet rooms, and never outdoors or in an environment with ambient sound. I would imagine it may not do so well in such an environment because of the sensitivity. I opt for shot-gun style mics in those environments. For controlled condition recordings, I don't think you'll do much better in terms of a USB mic and I highly recommend it.
