I've been working on a MacBook for a while with no DVD player of course. Had need to get some media from a disk and instead of calling friends and borrowing drives I bought this at a very reasonable price. What I later discovered is that techies still rely on DVDs for backing up files. Its somewhat past and future proofing. 5 |

If you still use, have or buy DVD's and your old player has gone poof then this is a very good player especially when on sale. It plays UHD and converts non UHD to best picture quality format. For sound quality it is ATMOS and works perfectly. I have compare Dune 2 from streaming to the UHD disk and the disk outperformed the stream and sound. 5 |

I bought this DVD Drive to go along with an ASUS ZenBook Pro UX501VW DS71T laptop which doesn't include an internal DVD drive. This DVD drive is barely the size of a DVD disk. It matches nicely with the laptop. It comes with a software disk and a USB splitter cable (you will need two USB ports available on your computer to use this drive). It is well constructed and functions beautifully. The included software is optional. This drive is plug and play, however, my laptop didn't come with Windows DVD Player software. No Problem... I downloaded a highly downloaded free DVD software suite and it works perfectly. It does what I bought it to do. It is not a blue-ray player though. If that is important to you, you'll need to pick another drive. 5 |
