I've been in filmmaking for over 10 years from making professional music videos, documentaries, and even features, and rarely have I come across the level of quality this camera provides. As a colorist, the color science is absolutely astounding. I have it paired with a variety of lenses from Nikon, to EOS, Meike, and Zeiss, and with each lens, the delivery of quality is again, flawless. It does have a few quirks, as one would expect from such a low price point. ISOs between 400-1250 are absolutely garbage. Especially in low light. This won't be a problem if you have a 4GB+ Graphics Card in your editing machine, but anything lower, and you're going to want to avoid those ranges. I don't understand the plastic-y feel everyone says it has. Sure it's not a full-metal body, but it sure is sturdy. I recommend this camera to anyone looking to step up their filmmaking game from a standard Mirrorless or DSLR. It will have a 1.9x crop factor, so be ready for that with your glass arsenal. Overall, 5-Stars for sure.

Tiffen's ND filters are top notch quality. that's all I use. This Is a must have for DSLR filmmaking.

I used this lens for all of my hand held shooting for an indie film hot on a Canon DSLR. If you're new at this, the IS refers to the Image Stabilizer which is absolutely necessary for most hand held filmmaking. You don't need an aperture lower than 4 for most handheld work either as it's really tough to focus on a moving subject below an f4. So if you're debating between this lens and the 2.8 with no IS, the difference for me was for it's purpose as a primary filmmaking lens. It also takes great stills for events or parties or even real estate with it's nice wide angle. If you're only going to take photos, then you may want the other model of this with no IS and f2.8. Great lens, lightweight, sharp image, very accurate.

I use this lens for filmmaking with my DSLR. The wide angle looks amazing! The lens itself has some weight to it, so it makes you feel good about spending the money, I mean it is an L series, which is the best for cannon.

For indie DSLR filmmaking, great price for a genuine fluid head to get started on. The legs may lack some in stability/build, but this is a fair tradeoff for its lightness and compactness. Solid investment, as in the event I move on to more substantial pro tripods, I'll still want to keep this at the ready for get-up-and-go/guerrilla projects.
