I needed a new dock that was USB 3 rated and that could handle 8TB hard drives. I hooked this up and it worked great. I'm prepping a new raw hard drive to install inside my PC, after it's been in use externally for awhile. Very handy tool to have around. 5 |

Very reliable product, used other external/internal hard drives but always came back to Western Digital do to quality of the product. Had a two TG Passport, but it was filling up so went to the 5 GB passport, always go for a larger drive then you think you need without having to purchase another within 6 months 5 |

This is my 2nd one of these drives. I use them for Super Duper bootable backups of my IMac internal hard drive, as a fail safe for Time Machine. I use them with an external drive sled connected via USB 3. Seem to work well, and get very little wear as they are only turned on when a backup is made. 5 |

I do video and have been buying internal hard drives to mount in a dock for backup purposes. The problem is that one has to develop a routine for backing up...Loss of a video project would be catastrophic; I found the Passport to be a simple, cost-effective solution.
