As expected, this Manfrotto Combi Boom Stand is very well made useful tool. The counter weight sand bag is perfect; rugged and definitely needed to take the pressure off the boom locking mechanism. Nice height, nice extension. AND very portable. Get it, you'll like it. 5 |

Purchased 018 set to marry to Manfrotto 420B combi-light stand with boom.Set up instruction of little assistance however set-up is simple. Casters simplifies movement of light stand, especially when stand is top heavy. Casters cleverly fold in on stand when stand is folded up, however the design does restrict complete closure.Your sandbag/s will provide any necessary braking. The advantages of the castors do outweigh the disadvantages. 5 |

I've used a Manfrotto 420B Combi-Boom Stand for many years and it has been great, but I needed something more heavy duty. I bought this Avenger Stand along with the Avenger D600 Mini-boom, and the combo is outstanding. The reach, stability, ease of movement, and strength couldn't be better. I also purchased a drop down pin which remedies some of the problems I had with the Manfrotto 420B. I did a lot of research prior to this purchase, going back and forth between Avenger and Matthews. I'm thrilled with the quality of this stand, and would buy it again. The only thing I would change is the addition of air-dampening for safer lowering. I haven't pinched any fingers yet, but I'm certain I will. ;-) 5 |
