I bought the Sony RX10M4 specifically for a Safari trip which we completed over the last 2 weeks. I shot over 2000 photos and many videos. It performed superbly. It's zoom performance during single and continuous shooting were quiet, fluid and allowed me to capture quality photos without moving from secure shooting locations. Colors have been true and the videos have been surprisingly good in detail and the sound was better than anticipated. I am not a professional. I do own a Canon EOS Rebel XSI and prior to this purchase I gathered enough feedback and professional advice to comfortable answer my initial uncertainty about either stepping up and adding a bigger DSL lens package or to step away from my DSL and venture into the "bridge camera" arena. The Sony RX10 M4 was a great decision. It's weight was not an issue. It's feel was balanced. The camera handled the bouncing and jarring of the 4-wheel safari adventure just fine, and additionally, I felt that having the added design protection of being dust and water proof --was a bonus in the very dusty and occasionally wet enviroment we were daily experiencing in Kenya. Obviously, memory cards are as equally important during a fast shooting trip like this. The Samsung EVO Plus 128GB did not handle the work load! It often stalled and on a number of occasional caused me to have to stop and remove the battery to end the freeze. That problem totally resolved as soon as I switched to the SanDisk Extreme SDXC UHS-1 and the SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-1 cards.Hope this helps . 5 |
