Best Sound Quality Computer Speakers Under 300

Excellent computer speakers, amazing sound and quality.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As soon as you open the box, you know this is going to be quality. A beautiful retro portable speaker that sounds as good as it looks. Resembles shelf speakers from decades ago. Quality materials (some recycled) throughout noticable by the stitching on the handle. You know the rest is just as good. Best thing about this unit is the sound quality! It has 2 25mm tweeters and a robust 5.25" woofer. Bass is enhanced by using a down firing radiator. The bass is incredible for it's size. 100 watts. The sound is auto -optimized as you change locations. You can adjust volume, treble and bass from the top controls or use the JBL One app (my preference). Not a big fan of the controls on top. Sliding/Fading led which I think would be better displayed by dots. The 300 has the typical connections you would expect (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) plus connections for USB-C, Ethernet and 3.5 mm input as well. Multiple speakers can be connected as well. As you would expect, Alexa and Google are built-in. I was a bit disappointed that there was no Dolby Atmos given the price point. You don't need to check for any system updates, as those are downloaded automatically when you turn the 300 on. Battery life is exceptional at 8 hours playback.. Approx 3 hour charge time. All things considered, the Authentics 300 is a powerful speaker and allows you to adjust the sound as you prefer, not JBL. This is a quality unit, so expect to pay reasonably for the quality.

I spent an hour going through all the possible speakers available at B&H and finally narrowed down on this little precious thing. Best sound quality and given its price its outstanding. I still need to rigorously use the product but as of now i could not be happier with my purchase.

Best XLR Cables I have ever purchased. Used them to daisy chain some speakers and the sound quality was great.

With 2 powered Sonos subs and 2 Era 300 rear speakers the sound could not be better!

I am using these as computer speakers because I wanted powered speakers so I didn't have to purchase an amp/receiver. Most computer speakers have pretty sorry sound quality. These have great sound quality and I use them for music, games, and video conferencing. I got an Maudio hub to connect them easily.

Like many who buy these speakers I read lots of reviews first, both in journals and on websites and from customers who bought them. Yeah, they are expensive but if one considers them high-quality bookshelf speakers rather than high-quality computer speakers they are a bargain. Yes, I am using them as computer speakers but only because I already have large, dedicated sound-system floor speakers. While the A5+ speakers are inspired by studio monitors they are more versatile. First of all, like monitors they will not improve a bad recording. I noticed right away how poorly engineered and recorded some of my favorite 60's rock songs were. And like monitors I can hear things on the recordings such as coughs, dropped objects, and percussion instruments I'd never heard before. But unlike near-field monitors they have a wider stage presence. I have my speakers about ten feet apart and could certainly separate them more without losing that presence. The sound quality is incredible - clean and crystal clear. Some buyers might consider a sub but I am perfectly happy with the bass they produce. I'd rather hear the music the way it was intended to be heard. No messing with equalizers or tone dials. Build quality is incredible. Some folks might not think the design is modern enough, but for me, the understated, matte finish and simple design is exactly what I wanted. The main speaker is heavy, but when you consider what Audioengine put in it, I am amazed it's not heavier. As for the cooling fins, I have not yet noticed them getting even slightly warm. So am I happy with this purchase? Absolutely. Love the speakers and love the service B&H provides.

I purchased these speakers for my computer setup and I was amazed at the build quality and sound. One speaker has the amp and electronics and supplies power to the other. These speakers are rated at 80 watts. 40 watts per channel and they are loud and clear. The frequency response is as advertised and it is flat across the spectrum with very, very little harmonic distortion. I could detect none. Excellent for a small room, computer or for DJ's. The controls and bass port are on the front for easy accessibility. Highly recommended.
