I would use 512GB 850 PRO Series SATA 2.5 SSD as a HDD in my Desktop.

I recently wanted to install a SSD in to the regular SATA HDD drive in my desktop using a SSD to HDD socket adapter. When researching for the compatible SATA 3 SSDs in the market, I found the PNY CS900. Installation was easy and it fits most adapters (I tried in on 3). But the best feature is the price! Definite buy!

This thing is great if you wish to upgrade a laptop or desktop that currently is using an HDD. This ssd will make boot times great and just overall system use feel more responsive. The only downside I have is it isn't the greatest ssd for pure speed but, for the price you are paying it is well worth it.

Replaced a clunky old 1Tb HDD in an HP8000 desktop with this Transcend internal SSD. Very easy install both mechanically and with the downloaded software. Windows 10 boots in about 15 seconds and noticeably more responsive. Highly recommend this product as a 75 year old non-geek. Had a support question about partitioning and my email was effectively answered quickly by Transcend.

Easier to install than I thought. Super nice to have this kind of storage on my desktop in SSD instead of HDD. Got it for a fair price too :)

SFF computer from many brands only come with a single SATA power connector and this allows using the one SATA power for 2 HDD/SSD. Easy to use and the hot-swap insert and removal functions as expected.

This is a great product. I've converted a few computers from the old HDD drives to SSD drives and I use this dock whenever I need to access the data from the older drives. This is working perfectly. It is described as plug and play, and I can verify that is true. It works right away for me, no need for drivers. I connected it and it was seen immediately by my computer. This dock is also very versatile. It can hold 3.5 hard drives (HDD) as well as 2.5 drives (SSD). I'm thinking of buying some of the 2.5 SSD's to use with this for storage and back-ups, which will save me the expense of buying enclosures. Comes with a USB-B to USB-A 3.2 cable which is a nice addition. Being hot-swappable is convenient. And this might sound silly, but I like that it has a power button so I can leave it connected to my computer but turn it off when not in use. I really like that feature. The fact that I deal with multiple file transfers, the WD Blue SN570 NVMe was a game changer. Highly recommend it when your old hard drive is failing, this is the best thing you can do next!

I recently got a SanDisk 1TB SSD (Solid State Drive) and used a drive cloning device to clone my old 1TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD) to the new SSD. It works wonders in my 15 year old computer! It really speeds up drive-related activities, perhaps as much as 3 or 4 times faster. I think my old HP laptop computer is either a SATA or SATA II type, so I suspect those with a SATA III system would see even better speed results when going from a HDD to a SSD. Gotta love it!
