[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking to upgrade my current gaming PC and was very pleased to find out that it had a second available slot for this 500Gb SSD. I figured it will be perfect way to a boost for gaming or a seamless workflow for heavy graphics, the 980 is a smart choice for outstanding SSD performance - and it's all backed by an NVMe interface and PCIe 3.0 technology. The install was very easy, as they say "plug and play". You can use the optional Samsung Magician software with it which is pretty neat and useful as well. The drive itself states read speeds up to 3500Mb/s however after doing some testing I was not able to replicate that kind of speed, however all the applications loaded up quickly and after doing some transfers back and forth, it worked amazingly fast. If you still use a spinning drive I would absolutely recommend replacing it with this SSD drive (or even better with a Pro version of it), you will see your OS boot up in seconds, read and write speeds will be quick which will improve your work flow. Samsung is a reliable brand for SSD media and this NVMe M2 is an awesome alternative to any other competition in this area. I received this product at a discounted price for my honest opinion. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Samsung 980 Pro Gaming SSD is a speed monster. The Samsung 980 Pro is a perfect addition to any gaming laptop or computer where you want fast response times and maximum performance! The SSD is a PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 drive, so to experience its full speed, you need a fourth generation PCI slot, preferably at least 4 channels 4x4, but 4x2 also works. Putting the drive in an older generation slot will inhibit its full speed, but you may still see improvements over your old drive. You can further customize the drive with Samsung's Wizard software (free), and Samsung also offers a convenient and effective SSD cloning tool called Samsung Data Transfer (free) to copy the data from your old drive to your new drive in a few simple steps. The software is available for download on Samsung's website. The software tools further unlock the drive's potential by optimizing, allowing encryption, and setting up an overprocessing buffer space to help extend the life of the SSD drive. If you have the right PCIe slot It's definitely worth the money to upgrade to his drive, especially if you're a gamer. Everything responds much faster with this drive, even non-gaming applications. I have never had a bad experience with Samsung's memory devices. Go for it. You won’t regret it. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initially, we got this SSD for our gaming PC but decided to try it in our video game console as well. The results have impressed us so much that we’re now planning to buy another 990 PRO to get the best possible experience from both devices. It was very easy to install the SSD, only a matter of minutes from start to finish. After we powered everything back up, the system immediately recognized the new drive. The console's speed test showed the drive running at 6561MB/s, which is more than 1000MB/s faster than the suggested minimum. The 990 PRO works perfectly inside our console, and the massive 2TB capacity lets us keep all our games at the ready, with room to spare. Games load up almost immediately, even a little quicker than when they’re installed on the system’s internal drive. All in all, we couldn’t be happier with the 990 PRO in our video game console. This is the SSD to get for all your gaming storage needs. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung’s 980 PRO SSD has delivered my PC into the next generation of gaming and content creation. While I’ve previously owned an SSD, there’s a world of difference between a SATA drive and this NVMe SSD running on PCIe 4.0. With peak speeds reaching 6,900 MB/s, the 980 PRO won’t ever be the bottleneck slowing down my computer. Installation was as simple as inserting the SSD into an M.2 slot and securing with a single screw. The 980 PRO doesn’t include a heatsink, but even without one, the SSD’s firmware and thermal design do a great job at keeping the heat under control. The 980 PRO’s performance, temperature, security, and health are all easily monitored and configured through Samsung’s excellent (and free-to-download) Magician software. In use, the 980 PRO has proven both exciting and essential. Loading times are blissfully-short in games old and new. I’m always among the first to load into multiplayer lobbies, so my teammates never wait on me. Of course, this SSD’s benefits extend well beyond gaming. Windows boots up in a flash, browsing through thousands of photos is a breeze, and 4K video editing works fluidly, all thanks to never needing to wait on storage. Samsung warrants the 980 PRO for five years (or 300 TB written for the 500 GB SSD). My previous experience with Samsung SSDs suggests that I probably won’t ever invoke the warranty, but there’s great peace of mind in knowing that Samsung stands behind this drive for a long time. Overall, I highly recommend this SSD for gaming and beyond. With modern consoles now integrating their own high-speed SSDs, games will be both designed around and best experienced with high-performance storage. There’s no better way to bring your PC into the next generation than an upgrade to the Samsung 980 PRO. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you're a PS5 owner looking to elevate your gaming experience, look no further than the Samsung 980 PRO SSD with Heatsink. This powerhouse of a drive delivers blazing-fast speeds and reliable performance, making it the perfect companion for your console. Installation was a breeze, thanks to its M.2 form factor and compatibility with the PS5. The included heatsink ensures optimal temperature management, keeping the drive cool even during extended gaming sessions. With a generous 1TB capacity, I never have to worry about running out of storage space for my games. And with PCIe Gen 4 NVMe technology, loading times are significantly reduced. Whether you're downloading games, installing updates, or loading levels, the Samsung 980 PRO SSD delivers maximum speed and responsiveness, taking your gaming to the next level. Say goodbye to sluggish load times and hello to seamless gameplay. Highly recommended for any PS5 enthusiast looking to enhance their gaming setup. 5 |

Best drive, the extra small features like v-nand, 10yr warranty, great power efficiency & great read/write speeds are awesome, theres a reason samsung is a company others have to try to keep up with. Only downside these days is still pricing on ssd's. Please do your best to hurry up and lower cost of ssd's samsung, i would love to buy a 1terabyte, heck (2) 1tb drives, but solid state drives are still to pricey for the higher capacities all around the board. The moment it comes down a tad i will be buying samsung once again. 5 |
