Best Ubiquiti Router Wireless

I bought this router and paired it to my 2 ubiquiti wireless ap's. Router works great! Highly recommend. Read all the great reviews about it. They aren't lying.

I plugged in one of the router outputs from my AT&T wireless gateway and distributed it to wall jacks and 2 Ubiquiti UniFi AC Pro access points (also bought from B&H) via PoE and everything just worked. Not sure why I waited so long to do this.

These are so far superior to any consumer grade wifi/router combos. I just regret having not discovered ubiquiti products sooner! Pair several of these with a unifi controller to enjoy a fast 5g connection throughout your entire home/building/site.

Thanks to this router, I no longer need to use the power brick for my AC-Lite Ubiquiti AP. This router can support PoE on any of the copper ports. Thankfully, my AP only needs 24v. I took advantage of the vlan and and firewall features to segregate my networks. You won't go wrong with this router. However, I will caution you that the this router was designed for an audience with a rudimentary understanding of network.

Far better router than I thought it would be. Many big router features. Use Ubiquiti previously with mixed results. Really a big fan of this.

Right up front I am very happy with the Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro and the associated accessories I got to complete the setup.  To round out the needed equipment I also got two nanoHD APs, one UAP-AC-PRO,  and a US-16-150W managed POE switch.  I am not affiliated with anyone in this business, and I personally purchase everything I own. Going to Ubiquiti was a big step for me.  At around 2700 sq ft my house is not that big, but I have around 50+ network devices and some of their their locations are at the extremes of the residence with some being outside.   I also have a Comcast Xfinity internet plan that provides for 600 mbps down and 15 mbps up.   I have tried three different high end mesh router systems (not Ubiquiti) and never quite got to the experience and performance I wanted.  I found all of the MESH systems a bit quirky regarding stability and hit and miss with speed.    My experience with the UDMP has been great so far (about two weeks).  I feel like there might be more to gain in the area of tuning, which is all part of the adventure, but if it gets no better at all I will still be very happy.  The system is very stable, has fabulous features, and gives me 300-500 WiFi speeds which is great. There are some caveats and potential downsides here that should be mentioned.  The UDMP is a great piece of equipment and is the heart of the Unifi network, should you choose this controller, but this is not a typical consumer product like an off the shelf router.  Do your homework before jumping into this, because there are several parts that need to work together,  a fair amount  of work putting it all in, and a bit of networking know-how getting things all configured.  Don’t expect any instructions or a user manual.  You might not know what to do with it out of the box, but there is plenty of help online.  For the technical go-getter with some time and money to spare you will have a really great system when it’s complete.

I started using the Ubiquiti products this year and glad I made the switch. This router is working at my friends house with no issues. I have yet to max this thing out on 75/75 internet connection. Allows vlans, vpns, and many other great options in more expensive products. The web interface is pretty easy to figure being an IT person.
