This is a great microphone for vlogging, especially on a smaller, mirrorless camera. I use this mic with my Sony a6400. I use a smallrig cage setup, so it doesn’t block the flip up screen. I really like this mic for vlogging because you don’t have to worry about turning it off and on, or dying because it doesn’t take a battery. Small & compact, but very effective. Was looking for a vlogging camera that can be taken on the road and had a fold-out screen. After about several weeks of research, I settled on this kit - camera, mic, gimbal, and vlogging kit. This has been a great upgrade from the GoPro Hero 7. The camera, mic, and grip are not too heavy to carry and film for extended hours. The fully articulating screen is nice and I like the fact that it folds out allowing you to still use the hot shoe (cameras with a flip-up screen block the hot shoe limiting your use of an external mic, or anything else you would want to attach to the hot shoe). One recommendation - get the zv1 handle grip r055 (Amazon) for this camera if you will be using it on the Bluetooth grip. The tripod screw hole is very close to the battery cover door. When the camera is on the Bluetooth grip, the battery and memory card are inaccessible because the grip covers the battery cover door. With the additional handle grip you will be able to get to the battery and memory card without removing the camera from the Bluetooth grip. The handle grip does add a little extra weight, but not too much where it becomes too noticeably heavy. Aside from this minor design issue, the camera, with this vlogging kit, is a must for any vlogger on the go!

Sounds great and would work perfect for vlogging. However, when talking from behind the camera it does not pick up very well. This is a great mic for anyone who wants to record just the audio right in front. The sound is nice and crisp especially with the high pass filter and gain settings.

So yes. First off this thing cleans up your audio from external mics very well. I've tried this on my motorcycle with the gain set to -10db and it turned out very clear (I am still editing that video). It fits nice and tight onto the side of your Action 3/4. Something to note....you WILL need to remove your usb-c access door to use this. Lucky for you, it removes easily by design and yessss it fits Into your camera while your camera is still in a cage. Another thing is you CAN use the usb-c port to charge your camera while still using the 3.5mm jack to plug a mic into while recording. - The 3.5mm jack is a TRS port so your mic has to have 2 lines on the 3.5mm end (not 3) in order to work with this adapter. - You cannot use the usb-c port of this mic adapter with a usb-c microphone as that mic will not work. If you have a usb-c microphone, plug it directly into the camera to use it. - the usb-c port of this adapter can be used to transfer files from the camera to your phone/laptop/tablet or PC or charge the camera ONLY.

I purchased this to connect my mic to my canon vixia hf m52 and it works wonderfully! I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to connect a mic to thier camera who only has a mic port on the camera but an actual xlr port on the mic. Thank b&h for the great deal!

Using the AC Adapter allows me to keep my camera powered and free's up the USB port on the camera to power my mic!
