Beyerdynamic Dt 990 Pro Open Studio Headphone Review
Major Audiophile | 2024-09-06 02:41:58 |
I use the HeadAmp6PRO to listen to high end headphones, like AKG K-702, Beyerdynamic DT-990, and Sennheiser HD595. I also have a discrete class A headphone amp, but two of the above headphones need more bass, in my opinion. The bass/treble control is great - very low noise - can play the 702's very loud and they are not easy to power. Highly Recommended for this purpose, or Pro Audio. 5 |

Got this amp to use with my Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 250 ohm headphones. Tried some other lower powered amps but this one really works a lot better. A note that this does come with a USB-C included for use in MacBooks. When I bought it, that wasn't listed. 5 |

This amp blew my socks off. I purchased this amp to use with my Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro(250 ohm) headphones. The instant I plugged them into this amp I was blown away. The sound is so clean that I heard detail in songs that I hadn't heard before. I use this for mixing and hearing all this detail has really improved my mixes. I love this amp! 5 |

i a bit of a headphone enthusiast, being a musician. i have ultrasone studio headphones, westone w3 in-ear-monitors, blue mo-fis, and various others. i was stuck in NYC recently and needed some headphones that played a bit better with some studio gear i had picked up, so i decided to take a chance on the GRADO SR80es. i'd heard about grados for years, but hadn't wanted to play around with open-back headphones. as soon as i tried them on in B&H i was sold. it's true that the SR80es don't have the pounding, overprocessed bass of something like, i guess, an Apple Beats headphone might have. but in terms of overall sound quality - blend, balance, sense of SPACE. these things absolutely amaze in those categories. i can't believe the quality of sound for $100. the open-back nature of the phones delivers an entirely different listening experience. wider, more open than anything i'd heard previously. yes, sound leak is a thing - you won't be able to listen to these on an airplane or in bed next to your significant other without them hearing plenty. and yes, sound will 'leak' IN as well, but i personally enjoy that. walking around NYC with the sounds of the city blending in to the music i was listening to - adds a new element and also adds the bonus of hearing the trash truck just before it runs me over. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A bit slower than my 990 Pro and 980 Pro, but does the job. Not issues yet with the device or microcode. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to my PC gaming rig. Whenever upgrades are available, I have to be an early adopter. Sometimes it's not worth it, but the Samsung 990 Pro was definitely worth it. I'm upgrading from a 980 Pro and the difference in load times is absolutely noticeable. Not to mention my 980 Pro was a 500gb and the 990 Pro is 1tb, so in addition to increasing speed, I doubled storage space. When I say this drive is fast, I mean it's FAST. I will definitely be purchasing the 2tb 990 Pro for my gaming console ASAP. Samsung is absolutely on top of the SSD game right now. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Samsung has hit yet another home run with the 990 PRO. This Gen4 NVMe SSD delivers top performance and reliability for gaming, content creation, or any other demanding use. With this drive, I’m confident that data storage will never be the bottleneck in my PC. Installation was a simple matter of plugging the drive into an M.2 slot and tightening a single screw. This non-heatsink version of the SSD was an ideal fit for my PC, which came with its own cooling solution. As a convenient bonus, Samsung offers downloadable data migration software for those who need it. In use, the 990 PRO is an absolute joy. With peak speeds over 7100MB/s, the drive provides a noticeable boost to just about everything I do. Game loading times are blissfully short, Windows boots up in a flash, 4K video editing is a breeze, and browsing through my massive photo collection feels instantaneous. Samsung’s Magician software is easily the most comprehensive among SSD manufacturers, and the company has a long track record of updating their drive firmware whenever the need arises. This level of support gives me peace of mind and is something you just don’t get with cheaper brands. Overall, the 990 PRO is a premium SSD in every way, and I’d recommend it without reservation. 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had to make the tough decision on which of my devices would get to have the latest Samsung SSD first. I have had all the previous ones and they're still rocking like the champs they are. I decided to add it to my gaming rig so I upgrade its other components to match up to the 990 Pro's prowess. If you want to take full advantage of its 'magic', make sure that you install a heatsink. Otherwise the label heat spreader it comes with should be well enough for non-heavy gaming/video editing. I have a few PC's with a 980, 970, and an 860 and I have to point out that even though the 990 is extremely faster than its predecessors, it is more power efficient. And that, in my book, is innovation at its best! Blazing speed, better cooling technology, power efficiency, & consistent R/W is all us techies crave for. Other SSD's on the market just can't compete with Samsung's 990 Pro. I'm extremely happy with mine! 5 |

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have purchased 2 of the 4TB and 1 of the 2TB Samsung 990 Pro. It is one of the best NVMe M.2 drives available. It is fast and reliable, and the Samsung Magician software is a useful tool for managing the drive and monitoring its health. I have always had a good experience with Samsung and will continue to purchase their products. 5 |
