Like brass-mounted filters, brass step-up rings are all-round better, for video as well as stills photography. I have a small set of aluminum step-up rings that came with a variable ND filter, and no matter how carefully I screw brass and aluminum-mounted filters into the rings, there is a slight roughness and sometimes binding. I used this Sensei Pro brass step-up ring with an ND filter in windy conditions on the edge of a cliff the other day and it worked perfectly. Can't say better than that. Brass step-up rings cost more, and weigh more, but the investment and weight are worth it. I will be adding more Sensei Pro brass knurled step-up rings to my collection soon, eventually replacing all my aluminum ones.

I waited a long time to buy a d500. I still have a d300 from back in the day. I bought this from Isaac in the used department of B&H. He's a man you can trust. I have only had it a couple weeks but this camera is everything I ever thought it would be and more. It's fast and sharp and does everything I've asked of it. Looks like the d500 and I are going to make some memories.

Binding is great - no problems with pictures coming out or binding coming loose - have been using these for years and won’t be switching anytime soon!
