This is a work horse mic used by every sound engineer to record any type of instruments:brass, percussion, etc.

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

brass gives it just a bit more protection for my new zoom lens!!!

All brass very thin and you get what you pay for - it had a tendency to become stuck on both the inside and outside thread - wish I had put a bit of Vaseline on it before using - so I bought a pair of lens clamps - that was a good purchase as well

I know it's a bit expensive for what it is but being made of brass really makes a difference. I feel confident in my ability to take on/off easily without binding. Highly recommended.

I use mine with an X-Pro 2 and 2-3 lens. A bit tight with 3 lens. Fine leather and brass hardware. I just got mine and I love mine. How it holds up over time remains to be seen. I have the black leather.

This filter replaces one that got shattered doing it's job. B+W filters are a bit more expensive than the others but they often use brass for their rings thus do not lock up as aluminum often does. I'm pretty sure they are built by Schneider, which has done some outstanding optics. As far as haze penetration I don't know. Perhaps it does penetrate haze but it is very subtle.
