Black And White Wireless Printer Scanner

Purchased Brother HLL2480DW Wireless Black and White Laser Printer after with have an HP printer for a long time. What a difference! Easy set up and troubleshooting, quick printing and print quality.

I needed a color printer occasionally as my laser is black & white for most of my printing I also needed an updated scanner to replace my old one! And on top of this, it was completely set up in minutes... I love this!!! I can also print from my cellphone!

I have been a black and white photographer and printer for decades. I recently decided to take a much cleaner route for making prints. I closed the darkroom and got the Epson scanner for Christmas. I specifically wanted a scanner which could handle my negatives of many sizes. This one can handle my 35mms, 120's, and 4x5 sizes. As a novice to anything modern, I contacted my mentor in the black and white world. He had gone digital many years ago. He recommended the Epson Perfection V850. I set everything up yesterday, with no help. I scanned immediately and found the instructions easy to follow. I am very happy with the results. I have a body of work spanning 10 years of black and white film that I am about to begin scanning for publication and an upcoming show. I am very pleased with the quality of the images and the dramatic reduction of chemicals required to make a final product.

This is a great black and white printer.. It uses the large cartridge which saves money. Great if you don't want/need color printing. However, it was very difficult to set up for wireless feature. I had to have HP tech help and it took about 40 minutes for the tech person to get the wireless feature to work. Unless you are a "techie" you should just call HP for online help. Again, a great economical black and white printer.

If you have an Epson 3880 printer, you will know the inkset well. I use the Advanced Black and White mode a lot for B&W prints, and the printer is still working extremely well for me. In ABW the linearity is excellent, prints beautifully and can differentiate very low levels of gray from black. The newer inksets from Epson and Canon report even better black density with higher Dmax, and if that is your holy grail you can go that way or off the deep end loading third party inks and struggling with profiling accuracy. But I bought the 3880 for the then-remarkable and still-respectable longevity of the pigment inks, and it continues to be reliable and clog free, it feeds paper well and it wastes much less ink than modern desktops, so I have not replaced it.

I scanned over 100 black and white hand-printed and sepia toned silver gelatin prints. The scanner picked up on the fine detail and gradations in tone well and accurately. The scanner took about five minutes for each--set at 1000-dpi to get rich detail. It worked really well for toned black and whites.

Purchased this to scan some old black and white photos. The picture quality is excellent and this scanner is very easy to use. I’m totally satisfied with my purchase. I recommend buying this you won’t be sorry. Shipping for this scanner was very fast. Thank you!

The product is easy to use. Allthough the disc with the drivers did not function, I had no problems to download it from the internet. The working of the scanner is a no brainer. Insert slides into mount, push in to scanner. Press button. The software (Silverfast) takes a little while to figure out, but is exactly what I needed. I use Lightroom and photoshop for the majority of my edit word. Scanning black and white fine are work, as well as ancient family slides went well and easy. For the price I will say this is the best scanner possible. The output might not be the best ever tiff files, but with a little post production, one can make large prints that will be nothing less than very good! As I do mostly black and white work, I do not miss the infrared function of the higher end scanners. The software driven spot removel works fine is you don't overdo it. Keep it to 1 pixel, and you won't notice a degrade in image quality. On the negative side: 1.) I'm not sure how long the negative carriers will last. It is very flimsy and must be treated with respect; 2.) I'm not sure how the scanner itself will remain dust free. 3.) The power adapter is US only. Perhaps add an option, or just point this out to international buyers.
