Black Magic Ultra Studio Mini Recorder Operating System

I have many monitors that I use for color grading. I typically use a black magic ultra studio and color calibrate my monitors. Out of my Ben-q’s and Dells, the Asus seemed to be the most accurate in Rec 709 gamma 2.4. It’s no FS but I truly am impressed with accuracy! If you are up in the air…just do it!

The 3G version of BMD’s Ultra Studio Mini Recorder is as reliable as the previous version but now has the Thunderbolt 3 connection. Ultra fast capture in SD and HD, plug in and play with BNC or HDMI input connections. If you want a capture device that’s quick and doesn’t cost the earth then this is what you’ve been looking for.

I have only had the crane 3s for a few weeks but so far, no complaints. I use it with the black magic pocket cinema 6k and I have not once had issues balancing or operating. Rumor has it that this thing can be a bit tough to wrestle with if you're operating a heavier camera but at least with the bmpcc it works great.

I use it with a Black Magic with monitor, recorder and a Zacuto rig with Redrock Micro follow focus, 12 volt pag batteries. The head is smooth and the balance can be easily performed. The gear is solid enough for what is is used for, light to carry and can be quickly installed. The bubble with inner light is a plus.

Replaced my 9-year old Mac Mini that couldn’t accept updated operating system. M2 way quicker. Mini is small, light, wide variety of ports: USB-A, USB-C, ethernet, headphone jack, etc. B7H was helpful, quick, efficient.

I used this product to power my Black Magic Ursa Mini directly from the Ronin. It worked a charm. Not only do I have the extra room for tilting the camera, but it saves on weight from not having to attach the V lock battery.

We've recently switched from a Tricaster mini to the Black Magic ATEM mini and adding this Shuttle is the perfect solution to get video into your live productions. Yes, the file formats are limited but good show prep habits should include getting all of your media in the same format anyway. Just import your media into DaVinci Resolve and render using the Shuttle HD preset and it works like a charm. Very impressive piece of tech and as an added bonus, does a great job digitizing your old home movies! Just attach your old camcorder via the HDMI and press play/record. Very impressed.
