Blackmagic Cinema Camera Ssd Samsung 840

I would say Samsung makes one of the best SSD. I had the Samsung 840 Pro before and now upgraded to Samsung 850 Pro 512gb

I needed a storage dock to transfer SSD footage from my Blackmagic Cinema Camera to my external hard drive. The Rocketstor storage dock has been a simple, efficient solution for me. Just connect a thunderbolt cable and you can transfer about 50 GB in 11 minutes. Not bad! As a filmmaker, it is the perfect intermediate to set up for post production. Using multiple SSD cards, I can continue shooting while the footage downloads. I highly recommend it for indie filmmakers who are working on a smaller scale.

What’s not to like when it comes to Samsung SSD’s? I have quite a few, including the 860 EVO, older 840’s and 850’s EVOs and PROs that seem to last forever, as well as the newer NVMe 960 and 970 drives which are easily the fastest drives on the market. Samsung drives always hit or beat the rated speeds in both the excellent Samsung Magician software and in Crystal DiskMark. Samsung’s free data migration/cloning software is second to none as it works every time, and I even use it to keep current boot drive backups using older Samsung drives. If I could save a few dollars on some other brand, I’d still buy the Samsung because of the level of confidence and benefits of owning them vs. other brands.

After a review of many manufactures of SSD drives, I chose the Samsung Pro 840/850 to bring new life to our aging Mobile Data Terminals at a reasonable expense. I have replaced about 100x Panasonic CF-52s and some workstations with these SSD Pro drives (128/256 GB drives), and they have continued to run exceptional in all kinds of working conditions without failure.

Purchased with a samsung 840 SSD and everything fit perfectly. Installed in an imac 2007 without any problems. The material was sturdy and looked well-made.

Bought it today, slapped a Samsung 840 pro SSD inside, hooked it up via USB 3 and instantly got a reading of 455 Reads and 421 Write speed. Then I transfered 10 GB of DPX files and took under 8 seconds! The USAP in this enclosure is the major advantage. Its self powered to boot. Perfect for very fast portable storage.

I have 3 other Samsung SSDs, an 830 256GB, an 840 250GB and an 840 Pro 256GB. The Samsung SSD keep getting better and better and faster and faster. I have had no problems with any of them. The 850 Pro came with the latest version of Samsung Magician (4.5). I do not use the Samsung Data Migration software, I use the Seagate free version of Acronis that works as long as you have any Seagate HD attached to the system. Even a novice can install a Samsung SSD with the Magician software. I have always found the Samsung SSD tech support people to be very helpful.

As advertised. It just works! Used with Samsung SSD 256Gb 840 Pro Series installation in a late 2008 iMac.

I'm using this tiny little SSD to record RAW footage on a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6K. Amazing it can keep up with the writing speed needed to record so much data... but it does. Comes with a little rigging device which I found very handy.

used on Blackmagic pocket cinema 4k, recording to Samsung T5 gave me over 2 and half hours are continuous recording. the battery is BM branded F570
