Blackstone Wireless Security Camera

I needed to connect an outdoor wireless security camera to Wifi but the signal on the main router wasn't strong enough to penetrate a thick masonry wall. The TP-link solved this problem. I set it up inside at the wall needing signal penetration but in line with the router. It worked perfectly - having a booster closer to the camera did the trick. 5 |

I was returning to photograph a derelict house and wanted a lenswider then the Zeiss 21mm I used for interior shots on the first trip. I own the NIkon 14-24 f/2.8 but was wondering if there was a better option. I read a good, short review of this lens by Thom Hogan on bythom.com. The lens did not disappoint in any way. The build quality and attention to detail are top notch. Optical quality is better than expected. I was able to square up the interior shots and the resulting files required no correction in post processing. Color and contrast are up there with the best. I look forward to using the lens on Milky Way and star shots in August and landscapes in June. I contemplated the Blackstone versus FIrefly and decided on the Blackstone for the nominal price difference. I would not hesitate to recomend the Firefly for a tighter budget. 5 |

I ordered the blackstone version of the lens after hearing the positive reviews associated with the lens when it was originally announced several months ago. I have used the lens dozens upon dozens of times since purchasing and I have been nothing short of 100% satisfied. SHARPNESS/QUALITY: For nature photography this lens provides very sharp images with only the very corners being slightly softer wide open. When stopped down to b/t f/5.6-11 the sharpness is nothing short of perfect at any distance. The distortion and chromatic aberrations produced by the lens are well controlled and less significant than other ultra wide lenses that are far more expensive FOCUS: Focusing is so simple for landscapes as setting the lens to infinity will maintain ideal focus on any object further than 10 ft distance even at f/4. Focus was near perfect when it arrived on my D750 and required no adjustment. BUILD: The build is top notch and I have no complaints. Feels as tough as any pro level lens. The focus ring is very sturdy and smooth so I have never had the focus slip, I rarely use the focus lock for that reason. Weather proofing is enough to keep rain from penetrating the barrel. I have included an image I took recently with the IRIX 11mm at f/8. 5 |

I've had my 15mm Blackstone for 4+ months, and have been very happy with the lens for astrophotography. The copy I have, has proven to be very sharp across the frame. I'm a retired professional photographer (always Nikon), and the build of the lens is excellent. It is manual focus, but the handling is very smooth, and it feels well machined. I could only do better, by spending at least $1,000 more. 5 |

I bought the blackstone and the nice integration with the Pentax k1mk2 and SR makes it a winning combination. Optical quality is tremendous for this cost of lens, the way it handles is really really nice. Focus ring is not to stiff or to loose, just right. Focus lock is a nice feature and the minimum focus distance is 1 foot. Pretty amazing for tight perspectives in the industrial work I do 5 |

I use this product to support a home video security system. I have 5 wireless G videocameras streaming live video from throughout my home. This is a budget setup and this router fit the bill perfectly. The router is constantly running at near wireless capacity as far as throughput. I use it on WPA2 b/g/n without issues. I gave it 5 stars because considering the cost and the benefits, I believe it is 5 stars. If this cost more, it would be 3 stars. 5 |

I can't believe how great this is for the price. Between the security features, the VPN features, and the incredible wireless coverage and speed, I'm a fan of Synology now. 5 |
