Blink Outdoor Camera Homekit

I bought this to use on my Blink security camera base unit. It is a perfect fit for my needs.

Works great. Integrates well with Apple HomeKit which was why we chose this camera.

The setup is easy. The confusion is whether you start with homekit or the WeMo app. The instructions provided indicate to start with the Weibo app which then triggers a firmware update and adding to HomeKit automatically. This makes sense since HomeKit currently does not upgrade firmware directly.

I bought this after my full-frame Sony went on the blink. Grandkids were coming and I needed a camera fast but, thinking my 'good' camera could be repaired, decided I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an interim replacement. After a couple of weeks of shooting I've come to love it. It's light, fast, colors are true and the dynamic range is very good for a camera at this price point. I've paired it with a Sigma 56mm 1.4 Art Lens and a Tamron 15-200mm zoom and am getting great photos.

I love that the camera has HomeKit support. The way it uses AI to follow people it detects around the room is really neat. The Alexa functionality built-in is an added bonus. The styling and way the camera can sit on a surface or be configured to mount to the wall with the same stand is great design.

I really like the camera. It was super easy to setup, works great with Homekit. I think the person detection works really great and the pan and zoom works perfect. This camera has been problem free and super easy to use.
