Blink Outdoor Camera Quality

I bought this to use on my Blink security camera base unit. It is a perfect fit for my needs.

I bought this after my full-frame Sony went on the blink. Grandkids were coming and I needed a camera fast but, thinking my 'good' camera could be repaired, decided I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an interim replacement. After a couple of weeks of shooting I've come to love it. It's light, fast, colors are true and the dynamic range is very good for a camera at this price point. I've paired it with a Sigma 56mm 1.4 Art Lens and a Tamron 15-200mm zoom and am getting great photos.

I wanted something that would work with my DJI OM4. This was just small enough not to interfere with the function of the OM4. The quality of the entire Blink 500 system is amazing with great quality in sound.

I've owned several d2's in the past -- all quality purchases. My early view of my new 14TB d2 Pro's is they are large capacity; solid and fast performers; exceptionally quiet; warmer to the touch after extended read/write sessions -- but not of concern; and without any other setting or intervention they automatically sleep and wakeup soon after my Mac does. In my opinion, you get what you pay for and these are worth every penny. The only downside is the blue status light is B-R-I-G-H-T enough to light a dark room at night and can be distracting if they are blinking while you're trying to sleep even down the hall, or if you have them running perhaps in an office when people outside will think the Martians have invaded the place with the bright blue blink-blink-blink. I placed a piece of dimming film over the light and I still have a visual status what's going on with the drive, but without the nighttime glare.

Just had two of these out on a show that hit every area of NYC and these things didn't blink. Excellent audio quality, great range, super easy to use. Even when the receiver itself was showing a low quality connection, whatever is going on under the hood kept everything super smooth. The only time I had any dropouts at all were due to physical limitations (like being behind thick concrete walls or getting separated in a huge crowd) but that's going to happen with any units. Was using it with a pair of AD1s so I'm not able to comment on ShowLink. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these units to anyone who needs high performance wireless!

It is perfect for my outdoor activities with my camera.

I'll update this review if anything changes, but right now, this unit loads everything up in the blink of an eye.
