Blink Security Camera Blue Light Meaning

I bought this to use on my Blink security camera base unit. It is a perfect fit for my needs.

Works well and doesn't take up a ton of desk space. The front blue light does blink while ots actively transferring and can get annoying so I just covered it with gaff tape.

I've owned several d2's in the past -- all quality purchases. My early view of my new 14TB d2 Pro's is they are large capacity; solid and fast performers; exceptionally quiet; warmer to the touch after extended read/write sessions -- but not of concern; and without any other setting or intervention they automatically sleep and wakeup soon after my Mac does. In my opinion, you get what you pay for and these are worth every penny. The only downside is the blue status light is B-R-I-G-H-T enough to light a dark room at night and can be distracting if they are blinking while you're trying to sleep even down the hall, or if you have them running perhaps in an office when people outside will think the Martians have invaded the place with the bright blue blink-blink-blink. I placed a piece of dimming film over the light and I still have a visual status what's going on with the drive, but without the nighttime glare.

I like to carry my camera bag (a messenger style) cross body, so a shoulder strap or neck strap just felt like I had way too much slung across me. I wanted my camera to be safe from being dropped or snatched, and this strap gives me just the amount of security I want without having my camera draped on me. I leave it on the camera all the time, but with the clip, the strap can easily be removed. The neoprene strap is very comfortable and does not get in the way. I don't even notice it when I shoot. Plus, it's blue. I love blue. I feel like I bought a lot of security for not very much money.

i had cheap filter on before... on the cheap one i can see my reflection. On this, i can't see my reflection at all (meaning more light passing through vs being reflected).

Just received the dehumidifier pack. It was 'blue' in it's sealed bag (assume it was ready to be used). I placed it in a non-sealed security safe some 5 days ago and it is still 'blue'. Cannot comment on how long it will last before needing a 'recharge', but will try and remember to come back and report. So far, so good.

Works as expected. Really nice to have a flood light with integrated security camera.

I bought this after my full-frame Sony went on the blink. Grandkids were coming and I needed a camera fast but, thinking my 'good' camera could be repaired, decided I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an interim replacement. After a couple of weeks of shooting I've come to love it. It's light, fast, colors are true and the dynamic range is very good for a camera at this price point. I've paired it with a Sigma 56mm 1.4 Art Lens and a Tamron 15-200mm zoom and am getting great photos.
