Blu Ray To Laptop Windows 10

Plug and play, no problems. I have always had good luck with Asus products. So far I copied my document and photo files onto double layer blu ray discs and burned a tv movie that was recorded on my hard drive to a blu ray which came out perfect. One odd thing, the enclosed software would not install, I ended up buying version 13 versus the enclosed version 8 of recording software that was included with the drive. No trouble at all with version 13, I have a feeling it had something to do with the changes in the latest Windows 10 version that the version 8 didn't like. Even with that little drawback, I'm very happy with the performance of this drive, just expect to buy some burning software if you are using the latest Windows 10 version.

Do not use power2 go software included and do not use, buy, or install any version of it including 13. Does no work in windows 10 OS to recognize or see usb external burners or blu-ray burners. Just had a e-mail chats with the company and they played it down like nothing was wrong, was working ok until some update windows did and the power2go started malfunctioning. Troubleshooted the not recognizing my usb Asus blu-ray burner any more to their software problem. Used this software for years, but, not now. Told them I was dropping their software due to it not working any more in windows 10 Pro 64 OS and started using Ashampoo burning Studio 23 which works just fine and recognizes the Asus external Blu-ray usb drive. Cyberlink is not keeping up to date on their software updates and malfunctions in windows 10 environment and has dropped off the top 15 lists for burner software and their reviews are not good any more. Other that that, this drive is a great external blu-ray burner and bought as an update to the BW-12D1X-U, thou it is large and bulky and works best with desktop computers not having a blu-ray burner.

Strangest thing: On my new Windows 10 computer build, this unit would not recognize audio CDs or audio CDs with just data on them--in fact, it simply spit them out. It was fine with DVDs and Blu-Ray discs. Then the following day, and from then on, it's recognizing all discs--even 20-year old audio discs with data. Go figure! Burned a Blu-Ray data disc with no problem. Was the initial problem with Windows or the player. Will never know.

I waited almost 5 months to take delivery of this 4K Blu-ray player and I havent been disappointed. I am adimittedly partial to the brand having bought my first blu-ray players from Panasonic in 2008 (and both of those players are still functioning the same way they were 10 years ago. and I own over 500 blu-rays so its safe to say they see quite a bit of use). This Panasonic DP-UB820 is currently paired with my 4K projector and its impressive. I believe its the only currently player that supports every flavour of HDR available HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG as well as old HDR10. The playback from this UHD blu ray player is astounding, obviously physical disc are for those of us who care about image quality and seeing the films as close to the way the film makers intended as possible (not after it has been compressed to fit down a narrow streaming pipeline) Overall I;m incredibly impressed with this player, now the real test of quality will be if I can get 10 years out of it like my other Panasonic Blu-Ray players.

Fantastic Blu-ray!

I needed a new Blu-Ray to be able to view photos on CD/DVD. Since changing to Windows 10, my older one would no longer work. It was easy to set up. It took a bit of time to get the correct co-ordination to get the photos up and running, but all is well now

We had an old blu-ray player that no longer could play the latest Blu-Ray discs or even new DVDs. This player does it all very well. We have other pay-for-view providers that look better after installing this player. We also find that it is faster when reacting to remote button pushes. There is little to no lag in sending/receiving commands. Our system has a seven channel surround system and the sound from this player is wonderful. It also make a big difference when playing CDs when we use it for a music player. This player is not inexpensive, but at this point has been worth every cent we spent on it. The people at B&H also got it to us with standard shipping in three days. If you are looking to purchase a new Blu-Ray player, this would be the one to purchase.

When I went with a new laptop for video editing that did not have a DVD, Blu-Ray burner installed. I checked out B&H's website. I knew that I did not want the flat, small, plastic external burners I already owned and did not like. The Mercury Pro is built like a tank. I like the fact that in order to load a disc, you must access a draw, drop the DVD in the holder, not snap the DVD on to a center piece. In the short time I have used the Mercury, I've successfully burned 10 Blu Ray discs.
