Bluetooth Adapter Tv Output

This adapter worked perfectly to connect my tv, which only had an optical output, to the soundbar.

I received my SRS-NS7 from B&H about a week ago and was totally hooked on it within an hour of starting to use it. However I want to offer some strong advice to those who plan to use one of these while watching TV alongside other viewers. My wife and I normally sit about 12 ft from our TV monitor and typically sit close enough that we rub shoulders. We have a Sonos soundbar under the monitor, with surround sound speakers at each end of our loveseat. I wear hearing aids but Patty does not. The optical output of the TV goes to a splitter with one output going to the soundbar and the other going to the Bluetooth transmitter for the SRS-NS7. With the arrangement described above, we both heard sound from the soundbar and the NS7, and there was enough latency difference to irritate us both. I have a technical background and had anticipated such a latency effect, but had no knowledge of the actual delays with either device. I spoke with an audio expert at B&H, asking for advice about a variable delay device that has optical input(s) and output(s). He could not recommend such a device that is currently available from B&H but did suggest a Felston DD740 that B&H used to carry. I looked up the characteristics of the DD740 and agreed that it seemed to be exactly what I needed. I purchased one from LipFix.com, after talking with their Nick Johnson. It arrived yesterday. After connecting my new DD740 in series with the optical input to the Bluetooth transmitter of the SRS-NS7 and experimenting with the delay, I found that a delay of 55mS yields NO perceptible latency effects that interfere with either what Patty and I hear while watching TV. The bottom line: We both enjoy hearing REALLY EXCELLENT sound, including very clear dialogue, while watching TV together AND I get the benefit of superb sound while editing videos etc. with the SRS-NS7 connected to the Bluetooth of my computer systems. i noticed this model just came out MD826AM/A vs the older MD826ZM/A. not sure the difference, but this one works great. i have been using mine with a ipad air 1 (Sprint LTE). I visit my girlfriend on the weekends, and for the last few months i was taking my entire PC tower with me. this adapter makes it much easier. now i use AV player HD to copy my AVI/MKV files to my ipad, and i can play them on any of the tv's in her house with ease. 1 thing to note, it does mirror the ipad when at the home screens. meaning your tv will have black bars on the side since it is a different ratio. but many apps have full screen modes that will output in 720p and/or 1080p. for instance, in AV player HD you have to go into the app settings to select which output setting you want. i then re plug the adapter and restart the app. start the movie, it then goes full screen on the tv. i wish the ipad could go black once the movie starts on the tv, but it has to keep the screen on for controls i guess (but it would save battery if it could turn off) i have been able to watch multiple movies without any issues. it does pass video and audio to the tv.

You may want to consider a Bluetooth adapter for your headphones rather than this. They are harder to loose and more convenient.

The connectivity options for this are everything I needed. Bluetooth pairing is incredibly easy and now I can move the turntable to wherever people are, spin up some old vinyl just for fun and listen through my Sangean BT radio. Or I can move same radio from room to room, which makes kitchen work more enjoyable. Or, I can connect it easily to my old school preamp and stereo using the phono level output for more serious listening. Haven't tried the usb output to record as MP3s in my laptop, but I'm looking forward to getting some hard to find tunes from my record collection onto my phone.More ways and places to listen to music that I've collected several decades ago.

I'd just bought a soundcard and I was going to use this cable as an output cable to my mini-soundcard , eventhough its wasn't successful I'd still used it for my stereo Bluetooth speakers

Just wish they kept the headphones output as in older similar models. I won't use Bluetooth that much, but it's nice to know incase my cdg player stops working.

Well built, easy to use, sounds fine. Use it for bluetooth from my iPhone to output via a PA sound system. I've not done careful analysis of the audio quality, but it has fully met my expectations. I'd recommend it to others.
