I have two of these car chargers that I use on long camping trips. I use two because while they work with the DJI charging hubs the connected batteries charge in series (one, then the next, etc). Thus with two chargers you actually get twice as many batteries charged in the same amount of time. As best I can tell, these car chargers work as fast as the AC chargers as long as your system provides great enough voltage. In many vehicles with older batteries and thin wiring running to the DC outlets (cigarette lighter outlets) you may need to have your car running to produce voltage high enough to satisfy the charger. However, we constantly use two of these in our camping truck running them from the house batteries without the engine running. This is with a large house battery bank charged by a large array of solar panels. Alternatively, I have heard of several people who use large portable battery packs (often with lithium batteries) such as Goal Zero Yeti's with these DC chargers successfully. The chargers are well constructed and I find the length of the two leads adequate without being cumbersom. 5 |
