Bluetooth Receiver For Stereo With Optical Output

This receiver has revitalized my 1980s stereo system by allowing Bluetooth transfer from my Sony Walkman (CD quality) and from an iPhone. When powered the receiver goes into pairing mode--your device remembers this receiver...you are connected. So far there has been no problem with connection or distance from the receiver. As this is my second unit (first attached to another stereo system) I only wish I could rename the unit as it comes up with the same name...only to be identified by the Bluetooth address. If you only have one of these, this will not be an issue. Attachment is simple: connect using RCA supplied cord to your receiver aux input. Having it on a switched plug on the receiver is very convenient. If not, you would have to push the light button to switch it into on mode. It has an auto off after a few minutes of not receiving a signal. It also has an optical connection.

I have an old stereo receiver which I use with a computer for tunes in my shop. A lot of noise and static was always being picked up by the cable, and rather than try shielded cables I decided to just utilize the optical output on the computer. Since the receiver didn't have optical capability, I picked up this converter to do the job. It does a great job, now there's no electrical connection to the computer and the noise is 100% gone.

Used to sum the stereo output of an Apple TV (Optical Audio to Analog converter PodDI to a Mono Mixer. The podDI works great the the Ground loop switch makes it crystal clear!

I was looking for a Bluetooth device to play music from my Ipod and Ipad to my older Denon receiver. After looking at the reviews, I picked this one even though it was pricey than others I have looked at. When it arrived, it was well packaged, came with a usb power supply , usb cable, gold plated audio cables and a cloth bag to store the unit. Even though it has a optical digital output, No optical cable was included. I had this for about 3 months now and I can say that I'm really impressed with it and wouldn't hesitate to buy any of their products. I would recommend this to anybody looking for a high quality Bluetooth receiver.

I received my SRS-NS7 from B&H about a week ago and was totally hooked on it within an hour of starting to use it. However I want to offer some strong advice to those who plan to use one of these while watching TV alongside other viewers. My wife and I normally sit about 12 ft from our TV monitor and typically sit close enough that we rub shoulders. We have a Sonos soundbar under the monitor, with surround sound speakers at each end of our loveseat. I wear hearing aids but Patty does not. The optical output of the TV goes to a splitter with one output going to the soundbar and the other going to the Bluetooth transmitter for the SRS-NS7. With the arrangement described above, we both heard sound from the soundbar and the NS7, and there was enough latency difference to irritate us both. I have a technical background and had anticipated such a latency effect, but had no knowledge of the actual delays with either device. I spoke with an audio expert at B&H, asking for advice about a variable delay device that has optical input(s) and output(s). He could not recommend such a device that is currently available from B&H but did suggest a Felston DD740 that B&H used to carry. I looked up the characteristics of the DD740 and agreed that it seemed to be exactly what I needed. I purchased one from LipFix.com, after talking with their Nick Johnson. It arrived yesterday. After connecting my new DD740 in series with the optical input to the Bluetooth transmitter of the SRS-NS7 and experimenting with the delay, I found that a delay of 55mS yields NO perceptible latency effects that interfere with either what Patty and I hear while watching TV. The bottom line: We both enjoy hearing REALLY EXCELLENT sound, including very clear dialogue, while watching TV together AND I get the benefit of superb sound while editing videos etc. with the SRS-NS7 connected to the Bluetooth of my computer systems. this works great with my wireless lav receiver that combines 2 channels of audio into a stereo output. This cable isolates the two channels so I can record the channels separately into a recorder.

After doing research for a basic stereo receiver I chose the Sony STR-DH190 due to the impressive list of features including the phono input, Bluetooth, and the higher wattage output versus other similar receivers. I have attached my recently restored turntable to the receiver as well as a CD player and the sound is just fantastic! I particularly enjoy the ability to activate the receiver via Bluetooth from my smartphone and immediately begin streaming music - a great feature! Overall the Sony STR-DH190 is an excellent value and I use it every day.

Decided to get back into basic 2 channel stereo as my wave radio just couldn’t get it done. Took the plunge, picked up this receiver and two of the Sony 3 way bookshelf speakers. Wow the power and clarity from the Bluetooth streaming is amazing. Needless to say a CD player and a phono ( which each exceeded the price of the speakers and this receiver) were quickly added on. If your looking to get back into vinyl or just enjoy CDs or streaming to the Bluetooth you can’t go wrong with this receiver.

We needed a basic Bluetooth receiver for an old (20+ years old) stereo system, and this works perfectly. It was very easy to set up, and it takes up very little room. Definitely recommend it.
