I very much like the HamiltonBuhr Cassette Tape Player/Recorder because it is a sturdy machine that works as well as I hoped. I purchased it to play old cassette tapes and it plays them efficiently and as well as the player I had a long time ago. My only criticism of it is that it does not have a counter, but aside from that, I think this is an excellent machine.

I needed a Dual Cassette Tape player with a USB interface to convert 2 cassettes to Digital files. I don't do this very often, so I wasn't looking for a full feature deck. My minimum requirements were met, conversion completed and tape player went back on the shelf till the next time I need it.

Tape drives that have the same quality you remember from 20 years ago are hard to find but the Tascam 202MKVII Cassette Deck is worth paying extra for to avoid being disappointed with less expensive brands. I recently returned a new tape cassette deck that was in the $135 range and the cassette doors had trouble opening, the high-end CR02 Type-II tapes would not play without stopping shortly after hitting the play button. I also had problems with the lesser priced unit powering on by itself after being shut down. None of those problems exist with the Tascam 202MKVII and was pleased with the quality and sound. This is a dramatic improvement over what is available from off brands.
