Boost Wifi Signal In Basement

After two weeks our TV is working well with the exception of having placed the TV in our basement where our WiFi signal is weak. The TV will occasionally buffer but I will have to remedy the problem with a WiFi extender. Otherwise, I am happy with the TV. This is my second LG TV. The other one is upstairs and works well. We have owned it for two years.

Decided it was worth it to run a cable from my router to the basement and use a switch. This one time install was worth it. Nothing beats wired. This switch really is plug and play. No issues at all. It is extend signal to the basement. And signal very strong and stable.

A cable this long will usually need a little regeneration boost but this cable is so well isolated, we skated by without having to boost the signal.

I had lots of problems trying to get good wifi signal at home with my Xfinity default WiFi router, so I tried the UAP-AC Lite UniFi to see if this problem persists. It took me a little bit more than I expected to set it up, but once it done, I get a super high internet speed all around my apartment. I get from 16 Mbps to 88 Mbps download and from 8 to 12 Mbps upload transfer rates. I love this product and I highly recommend it!!!

Although it was a little tricky to set-up and wasn't crazy about having download yet another app to my phone as the direct website link would not work, the set-up was pretty simple after that. Once I moved it to the stairwell between the living room and the basement, it took only about :30 seconds to recognize the router and gave me full signal in the basement that I wasn't able to get anything before. I can actually sit out on my back deck and get wifi signal that I wasn't able to get before. All secured. We can now use internet on our tv and gaming systems in the basement and the signal is stronger in our living room and kitchen as well. Once I hook up the Ring, this should give me plenty of signal where I once had little to no signal in the past. Only had it for a day, so time will tell if this holds up.
