Boot Computer From Usb Flash Drive

Have been using a USB 2. 64 gb flash drive that I had no problems with but very slow. Just got new computer with USB 3, so checked around, but B&H had best price by far (think almost $ cheaper than @). The drive is great. I highly recommend it.Having done business with B&H for over 35 years (since around 1979). I know they treat customers well.

I was able to combine several smaller usb's onto this 128GB, very convenient. My computer only has 2.0 flash and this drive works well.

This USB hub makes using a flash drive much easier on my All In One computer. Not having to turn my monitor sideways to see the USB ports and having 7 USB slots makes things a lot faster and easier. Not to mention no stress on my built-in USB ports. The On/Off switches are great as I can turn off a USB slot before removing or installing a flash drive.

Update can be done without old CPU with USB flash drive only.

We are using a flash drive to store and playback videos on a portable projector. I tried with a USB 3.0 Flash Drive, thinking the newer version was better. But the projector had a different idea. I learned from the professionals at B+H that this unit requires an older USB 2.0 Flash Drive. I never would have thought of that but sure enough, when I used this Verbatim 64G Ergo USB 2.0, the projector recognized the videos and played them flawlessly.

The boot drive on my computer uses one of these drives and has been working correctly for several years. I purchased this drive as a back up in case the primary fails. I cloned my boot drive to my recent purchase with no difficulty. If the boot drive fails, or if there is an unfortunate scam attack, I can recover by simply replacing the primary boot drive with the recent back up.

I used this to pull files from a computer drive that wouldn't boot the computer. Plug and play and saving files right away. Takes up desk space but it is a temporary installation. I like that it is enclosed- no dust on the connections.

I have had a LaCie TB SSD used as a second boot-drive for my iMac for several years with absolutely zero problems. So when I gave my granddaughter a MacBook Pro I chose a similar LaCie TB/USB3 Ext. SSD for her to use to backup her system using Carbon Copy Cloner. Since it's a Mac I used the Mac's Disk Utility Program to properly format the drive, rather than the included LaCie software. It was an easy set-up and the resulting clone can be used as a boot drive should it become necessary. Having been burned by HDD failures, I always backup. This 500GB drive will more than adequate for all her school files, and when cloned to a fast SSD more than enough for even a complete computer failure. Even if the computer is stolen this external drive kept in a dorm room will be worth its weight in gold!

I used this as the boot drive for desktop. The computer boots much faster and programs load more quickly. I have used Samsung SSD's before and found them to be excellent.
