Read the fine print. This uses Bluetooth LE, and that requires an iPad3 or better. After wondering why it didn't work with either iPad2 here, I found that tidbit (which I had missed) in the fine print, hemmed, hawed, and opted to upgrade the iPad side of the system. It is a quality product, which on the one hand seems quite pricey for what is effectively a 2 button bluetooth keyboard, but on the other hand is much better made than whatever I might kludge up from a cheaper bluetooth keyboard with many more keys. The keys are lit, soft, and silent, and the device is considerably more affordable than some others in its niche - and with the keys on top, not over the edge, it works fine on carpets (some reviews indicate that is a weakness of some competing devices.) For hands-free page turning it really is ideal. Intended for foot operation, it is a bit larger than you'd expect from the pictures.

I have owed all the Bose SoundLink speakers (in addition to other branded speakers) and this SoundLink Max is by far the best Bluetooth speaker I have ever owned! Out of the box the sound and volume is AMAZING! When you get into the Bose app, you now have control to customize the sound that you want! I have used this speaker in and out of the home and most recently used the SoundLink Max at a birthday party and got so many complements on the quality of the sound.
