Bose Heavy Bass Headphones

I have been a very satisfied owner of many Bose products for over 20 years. I even have an older pair of Bose Headphones that I love and still use regularly. When I was given the opportunity to test the new Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones I jumped at the opportunity. The New Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are really sleek looking right in the box. They are a little heavier than my older Bose headphones but not so heavy that they weigh on you. The headphones adjust to your head, they glide smoothly. The padding on the ears is very comfortable and not overwhelming. The padding that sits on the top of your head is soft and does not feel heavy or bulky. The setup of the headphones was simple. Downloaded the Bose App on my phone and the headphones connect easily. The first song I played on the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones was a rock song from the early 80's. It sounded amazing. I loved how the sound seemed to resonate in my head. One of the best features is how the music seems to follow you around when you move. Like you were actually seeing the band live in concert. The Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are very good at canceling the outside noise while in use. Honestly, I would recommend these headphones to anyone who is looking to purchase new headphones. The Bose Quality, comfort, style, and sound of the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are worth the price. 5 |

Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones have the best ANC in the market. The different modes are immersive, aware, and quiet work great. Immersive is spatial and ANC, allowing you to focus on the sound. Quiet mode blocks outside noise and awareness allow the important sounds in. The sound quality is very clean sounding. Treble, mids, and bass all have a distinct channel and don't bleed into each other. The app does have EQ settings so you can adjust bass, treble, and mids. The sound from Bose will never be bass-heavy. I feel the sound is too clean and is missing a warmth. The build quality is solid and the headphones are comfortable to wear for hours. My only complaint is the ear cups are too shallow. In summary, if you are looking for clean sound with awesome ANC the Bose QuietComfort headphones are for you. 5 |

These headphones are among the best at this price for my needs. I've been through a lot of headphones and wasted a bunch of money on well reviewed, more expensive ones but these are among the best. It seems that many other headphones are good at one thing but not anoher. I have a pair of VModa's that are VERY bass heavy but the mids and highs are very recessed. Don't even get me started on Beats. Just bad IMHO. These ATH-M50x's are very good at doing just about everything. Deep, but not overpowering, bass and clear mids and highs. I have another pair of favorite headphones and those are the Bose Sound True. Crystal clear mids and highs. Maybe even a tad clearer than the M50x's. But the bass is different. The bass on the Bose I would classify as tight and the M50x's as deep. Neither are muddy like the VModa's or Beats. All in all, these headphones are an excellent buy with a few minor negatives for my personal needs:1)There is no cord available for controlling an IPod or Android smartphone. I use these exclusively at the gym and it's a pain to have to reach in my pocket to skip a track or control the volume. With the Bose Sound True's, this cord is standard.2)They're noticeably heavier than the Bose. I was at the gym and listening to the Bose while lifting weights and when I went to the locker room to change for my cardio workout, I put on the M50x's and they felt like a ton of bricks compared to the Bose.3)Not real crazy about the blue/brown color scheme. The only reason I got this color is because all my other headphones are black. All things considered, a great purchase! 5 |

Very detailed, balanced sound. Not bass heavy like many other consumer headphones. 5 |

Good studio headphones. Not very bass-heavy for those interested in everyday headphones for music. 5 |

For the money they sound good. They have high output compared to some of my other headphones and are not bass heavy. Buy a pair! 5 |

These headphones sound good. If you are not into bass heavy headphones and would like clarity of the midrange, with punchy bass then these are for you. Although designed for studio, these deliver in most audio applications. 5 |

So at first I was slightly disappointed (but honestly not surprised) due to these headphones having a very bass-heavy sound that's mostly suited to electronic music. However, while listening on my laptop I started to use it with a EQ program to boost the treble, and use the headphones (plugged in) with Tidal on my mac. When I want to use it with my phone out and about, I just use the bluetooth as-is as I'm not as concerned with quality. That little tweak turned these headphones from pretty good to fantastic. Would highly recommend. 5 |

These are my very favorite headphones, and I'm not just saying that because I was asked to write a review. These headphones were top of the line studio headphones for years. If you watch videos of producers in studio, they're likely to be wearing a pair. They have a very nice distribution of sound that is very open and relaxed. You don't feel like sound is being jammed into your ears. The mix of bass and highs is very even. If you like heavy heavy bass, these won't be what you're looking for. Overall, I've never been happier with a set of headphones. 5 |

I do think these are a great pair of headphones. In terms of equalization, they are quite bass heavy and boomy, but they are quite dynamic. The noise canceling is definitely not the best noise canceling out there, but if you are not trying to have complete noise canceling, they are a great option. They last a really long time without needing to be charged as well. Definitely not studio headphones, but in terms of everyday listening, I've enjoyed my set! 5 |
