Boss Amp And Cabinet Pedal

Exactly what we've come to expect from Boss/Roland. Pedal just works. Sounds good and built like a tank. Easy on batteries when you don't want to run power. Priced right.

It all started with the Boss CE-1 chorus pedal in the 1970's. Every other chorus pedal is a modified version of that pedal. A beat up used one can easily go for over $500. Then came the equally good CE-2 but in a smaller classic Boss enclosure. Now for a great price you can get both pedals in one and it's made Japan (not China like most) with the highest quality components. I've tried dozens of pedals and for the price, there's nothing better.

The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player. There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal. It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality. Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.

Used once for powering guitar amp, powered monitor, pedal board, and bass amp on stage. Performed well and kept the hums at bay. Long cord legnth and good plug access.

Use item to connect guitar amp pedal controller. Good length to free up on stage movement.

I purchased the Xvive wireless guitar system based on a number of positive YouTube reviews. I figured for the price that it would be worth it if I could get it to work. I first tried it by inserting the transmitter into my PRS and the received into my Mesa Boogie amp directly. Worked perfectly. I didn't mess around with selecting a channel so I suppose it just worked with the default selection. I next plugged the receiver into an overdrive pedal and the pedal was plugged in with a cable to the amp. Again it worked like a charm and there was no noticeable difference compared to using the pedal and amp with a cable. Later on I did play around with selecting a different channel on the transmitter. It takes a little getting used to, but the device beeps the 1-4 times depending on what channel it's on. You have to set the receiver to the same channel to get the system to work. There is no light to tell you that the two are on the same channel so you just have to keep pressing the channel button to get them to sync. Anyway, if you don't have a second guitar using the same wireless system it's best just to leave it in channel 1 and leave it alone. It will work well. While playing I moved around the house and it definitely has great range. It was fun moving into different parts of the house without worrying about getting tangled up in a long guitar cable.

My problem as a guitarist is how to carry less gear (no amp) and produce a sound that will still have that super clean sonic characteristic similar to my mesa, replate, or two-rock, amps. I use a TC Electronic Nova System for all my pedal needs (it is a monster plus Pete Thorn uses it). The Nova can go directly into the ToneMatch as long as I dial in a ToneMatch sound simulation built into the tonematch. (there are some great varieties to color the sonic possibilities (such as: Miked Amp w SM-57)). The tone was gig-worthy but a bit sterile. (no tubes in the chain) The final component, an Effectrode Blackbird pre-amp pedal with a 600 ohm direct out (dead silent). The Blackbird provided the missing piece. With a 3 tube preamp design in a medium-small pedal, it's provides an astounding tube warmth. Guitar-Nova System-Effectrode Blackbird-Bose ToneMatch-L1 Model II with B2. Plus much easier to pack to gigs. My band switched from a pro-grade JBL SRX PA with QSC amps to two (2) L1 Model 2 with B2 bass sub units.

I use this mainly for practice with headphones. It also works and sounds great through a PA. I was pleased to see I can also use it through my guitar amp. The amp and cabinet simulations all sound great. So I’m hoping this will add different character to my amp when needed for certain songs. It’s a great addition to any rig!

This mic sounds great - I've used it on various amp cabinets (specifically Hammond Tone Cabinet and bass) and it sounds fantastic. Can handle whatever SPL you can throw at it, even sounded surprisingly sweet on close-up dialogue. Very rugged and solid, quality feel and $ performance.

Excellent price on an excellent product. The second mini cabinet takes it out from the standard plastic portable amp category into an easy to carry practice amp with some presence. Good range of sounds for an amp of this size. This one is a different breed from the clock radio sound many other practice amps suffer from. This is now my official vacationing practice bass amp of choice.
