Boss Pedals For Bass Guitar

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I play bass guitar and LOVE effect pedals, normally I use a power supply for my pedals, but if you use effects you know that some pedals work, and sound better with batteries. That’s where these rayovac high energy 9v batteries come into play. I definitely don’t want to be fumbling around with dead batteries on stage, and these last longer than most of the more expensive ones. Another great product from rayovac!

I use this from guitar to amp, from mic to voice and to couple foot pedals and Guitar computer.

I use this for my electric guitar pedals that have USB on them for connecting to my computer.

I own a couple Ernie Ball VP Jr volume pedals, and while these pedals are superior to the Boss FV50 in terms of build quality and feel, they're heavy. I'm putting together a small pedalboard for bus and train travel and so weight is my primary concern. I picked up the FV50H for use with guitar as well as the EV-5 expression pedal. So far they're working out great.

It all started with the Boss CE-1 chorus pedal in the 1970's. Every other chorus pedal is a modified version of that pedal. A beat up used one can easily go for over $500. Then came the equally good CE-2 but in a smaller classic Boss enclosure. Now for a great price you can get both pedals in one and it's made Japan (not China like most) with the highest quality components. I've tried dozens of pedals and for the price, there's nothing better.

The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player. There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal. It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality. Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.

The size, build quality, and design of these are great. The size is medium. They don't take up a ton of room, but they aren't too small to use. They are built like a tank. The connections are in the back, which was great for my needs. I have two of these on my board and I'm happy with that choice. They still have the one flaw that all BOSS pedals have. They design the bottom of the pedals to be the enemy of anything you would use there to attach it to the pedalboard. That hasn't changed here, but we have been self-engineering ways to get around that since BOSS has been making pedals with this ridiculous flaw. I'd give it 4.5 stars for that reason, but I wouldn't knock it down to four. Still great gear.

I bought this case as a gig bag for my Boss GT-10 Guitar Effects Processor. It fits perfectly inside. The external pocket is plenty big enough to store the power cord, an extension cord, and a guitar cord with room to spare. The case is made very well - heavy duty zippers, good padding inside, & a tough outer shell. I am looking to see if other Gator gear will fit any of my needs.

This is a quality product. I bought it to protect my Boss GT 100 guitar processor when I gig with the band. It has adequate padding, is well made, and has a side pocket for accessories. Nice carrying case for processors or small keyboards.

Use this bag to transport my Boss GT-10 guitar processor. My unit fits it the bag nicely and protects it from getting damaged. The zippers seem strong and the pocket holds the power supply and some of my other guitar accessories. It also has two good strong handles and a shoulder strap to make carrying it easy.
