Bowed String Family Instruments

I use this mic to record string and wind (brass mostly) instruments.  The different patterns make it effective in a variety of spaces depending on whether you want to reject other sounds or include reflections.  Versatile and great sound quality.

This mic sounds very nice for vocals, plucked string instruments, and woodwind instruments (at least that's what I've tried it on). I highly recommend it!

Really fantastic big string sound in the VSL instrument family.

I started out using pvc pipe but they bowed under the weight. Bought these to replace the pvc pipes and no more bends.

I received this lens today, and immediately mounted it on my D500 and tested it. True to it's 180 degree view, you have to take care unless you want a lot of bowed lines. However, that's one of the reasons I bought the lens. I have several wide angle lenses by Nikon and Tokina, and this one fills the ultra-wide angle niche. I opened the images in Photoshop, and examined them, and the results are excellent. The colors were nicely saturated, but not overly so. Since it's such a short focal length lens, the camera's AF doesn't have to do any searching, and the focus snapped in very nicely. I'll be using this lens for flower field pictures mostly, although the appeal of some architectural scenes with some bowed lines is also on tap. It's difficult to pack much more into a lens for the price. Earlier, I owned a couple of Sigma zoom lenses, but wasn't particularly impressed. However, this 16mm f2.8 is a real improvement.

Haven't used them yet , but am sure they will securely hold my instruments down .
