I did the mistake to buy the Camrade version (because a friend loved his cover for the FS700), but I had to return it because the cover was terribly bad designed. The whole thing was made of velcros that left tiny holes around the camera, the LCD back of the LCD screen was not covered, the back was to tight to put a BP-U90 battery and there's no space at the top to put a wireless receiver. I was extremely disappointed (it's the first time I had to return a B&H order) Then i emailed Porta Brace asking if their cover would fit a BP-U90 battery and they replied to be in 10 minutes assuring it would. After playing with cover I can say that it's very well designed, my camera feels much more protected then with the camerade version. If you know how well your FS5 you shouldn't have any problems operating with the cover on. There's a lot of space if you have accessories on your camera and most importantly : The LCD screen is 100% protected. Great product!

Works on All my Canon Vixia camcorders that use the BP-828 battery, including the HF G50. With a 10,000mah USB power bank I was able to record non-stop for 6+ hours.

Arrived on time. Total install time including PC case removal, about five minutes. Memory recognized right away, and off we flew. I found the checkout process a little convoluted, but maybe that's just me and it wasn't a big deal.

The right battery, for a cheaper total price (including postage) than it would have cost through an office store. Nice to get it directly from the source!

I bought this for using in the Jeep when I go to Kenya in a couple months. We are limited to 30 pounds total including all personal items which will be a challenge with my Canon r5 a decent lens and this item, but I would rather get great photos than dress nicely!
